    How to fix monk!

Riddle of fire: make it 10% damage increase and thats it. No slowing us down.

Riddle of earth: Make it give us one stack of GL upon getting hit (works only one time obviously). If you were at 3 already, cool, it refresh the timer. If you loose GL during a very long phase transition (Lakshmi for ex), with this new effet you get at least ONE stack back. Better than nothing.

Steal peak: Make it act like Empyreal arrow from bard, give automaticaly a chakra by using it.

Fire tackle: Make it do like a small explosion of fire or something that deal AOE damage in a small radius, like 5y or maybe 10y

Earth tackle: Make it do a small earthquake or shockwave that is a stun AOE in a small radius, this would act like HOLY from WHM and be far more usefull (as if the actual Earth tackle was usefull lol...).

Tornado kick: Maybe make it stronger so that its worth using again?

for a low potency attack on a 40 second cooldown, steel peak giving chakra is an amazing idea.

Some good ideas that fit the theme of what others suggest on the direction Monk should have taken. I don't like the Tackle Mastery suggestions though as Tackle Mastery is just a bad concept altogether and no amount of good ideas can really come up with three balanced variations of a gap closer.

Fists of Fire should become a trait like Ninja's Dripping Blades. The other Fists should be removed. Now that we have the Riddles the effects of FoE / FoW should be simply applied when we use the corresponding RoE / RoW.
Riddle of Earth should remain the same except it needs to give a GL refresh on activation and again on being hit. This is a great skill and great idea, but the usefulness of this skill swings too greatly if used when we have a fresh 16 second GL timer versus 10 seconds left because we didn't get a coeurl move off before mechanic. Having a refresh at the start will mean this skill has a flat, predictable effect like any other skill in our kit. If jump phases are too large for even this change to be useful then that's where we need to learn to use Tornado Kick.
Riddle of Fire I can live with, but a slightly lower damage bonus and lower skill speed reduction would be nice and maintain the MNK theme of small but fast hits.
Riddle of Wind should just make us move faster like a Bard song buff, but also reset the timer on Shoulder Tackle and have it refresh GL timer when used.
Tackle Mastery needs to be removed for PVE. Keep it for Monk's PVP toolkit since it's more suited to that arena. (knocking people off cliffs > knocking a mob back 10 yalms)
Tackle Mastery should be replaced with something akin to BLM Foul, where every 30s we spend under the effect of GL3 allows the use of a Free Tornado Kick - then we can finally use this skill.

    BONUS ANIMATION CHANGES:
Elixir Field animation should be be replaced with that bad ass Hurricane Kick from Temple of the Fist (still 360 effect though). Now that Hurricane Kick is an animation in the game it absolutely makes more aesthetic sense for us to have this rather than jumping and firing a laser from our palms.

Enable Formshift to refresh GL. Most Monk problems fixed.
Make Fists passive traits. Fists of Fire activate on hitting something. Fists of wind when 5 seconds out of combat, fists of earth activate for 5 seconds when Mantra is cast.
I also like the steel peak suggestion.

That's way too strong because we'd never drop GL ever again in any raid situation bar any sort of CC laid on us. Leveling monks or monks in a dungeon would feel the need to spam Form Shift constantly between mobs or while waiting for Person X to be done with their cut scene or bio break before the boss. Not to mention it'd also make Tornado kick (even more) useless.

Also, Fists of Fire being activated when hitting something is a little redundant. It should just be made passive trait at level X. They did the same with Ninja and, again, the only reason they left our fist stances in was likely because of Tackle Mastery (even though Tackle Mastery could have easily been baked into the Riddles).

I feel Steel Peak giving a chakra would be OP as over the course of a raid fight we Steel Peak a lot and that's a lot of guaranteed chakra we'd get. I did like some else's idea of direct critical hits having a 65% or so chance to trigger Deep Meditation. I do hate the RNG aspect of Deep Meditation but if it's here to stay then it makes sense that a direct critical hit should be more rewarding than a regular critical hit - not only in numbers but in DM procs.

There are lots of good suggestions out there from a lot of players concerned with our kit but many would make us flat out OP. I don't really believe our skills need such a large rewrite as are being suggested - especially once we're geared and melded. We're in a good place but certainly we need a slight change in the numbers/function of a few of our skills. It's just down to the numbers.

Yes, Riddle of Earth needs a tweak but not a complete redesign. It's a solid skill but everyone, myself included, just detests using it and then not getting hit in time. It's the most irritating feeling and monks just drop like a stone in DPS when this happens. If Riddle of Earth refreshed GL both on activation and when hit then we wouldn't be punished so much by a mechanic happening before we refresh the timer via Demolish, Snap Punch or Rockbreaker.

Brotherhood needs to affect all party members, ourselves included, and increase both damage and crit chance by 5% or damage and direct hit chance by 5%. The DPS we contribute through buffing two tanks and 1 other melee with 5% damage is laughable compared to other raid buffs.

Tackle Mastery needs to migrate/stay in the PVP toolkit.
The Fist stances need to go.
-FoF needs to become a trait.
-FoE already has its effect baked into RoE and so I can't image it'd be hard to...
-...bake Fists of Wind's movement speed buff into a new Riddle of Wind clickable action. Instead of giving us two charges of ST just have it reset the CD and refresh GL on use.
    - Then we'd have three different, complimentary Riddle skills instead of three fist stances and three riddles spread across five buttons. We have the DPS of Riddle of Fire, the reactive GL refresh of Riddle of Earth and the situational, active GL refresh of Riddle of Wind.

That, I feel, is a balanced and non-OP set of changes.
