Noob to the Companies

This may sound like a pretty basic question to anyone else but, how do you join a company. Do you need to do all the quests for every city?

If you're talking about ranking up from Recruit and pledging to a single Company, yes you have to do every Quest for all cities except for Toto-rak (Imperial Devices) and Dzemael Darkhold (Into the Dark).

Once you've seen all 3 company leader speeches you do one more quest at the company of your choice and after completing that, you can join up.

By that time you will have collected over 1300 'seals' with all the Companies. You will need to spend those seals in the Companies you won't be joining _before_ you join the company of your choice. They have some nice gear 'round level 25.

Also, it goes without saying, but I'd advise against using your seals for the company of your choice until you get your Chocobo voucher. You should have more than enough just from the quests you have to do for the rank up, but figured it was worth the warning since the personal Chocobo is quite a big deal gameplay-wise.
