    Pet Eyecandy

This idea i think would appease the class not being weaker or stronger while at the same time giving the class a pet.

Basically dragoon would have a pet but it would be only cosmetic, meaning give no bonus at all to the job or attacks. It can be added to ws, buffs, and so on as a nice eye candy feature.

One idea would be cool for the jumps the dragoon lifting the player or so up into the air by grabbing their back. well let me know what you all think of this. :P

We've been trying to fight off the whole idea of animation locked melee WS. It's one of the biggest reasons people don't use melee classes/jobs on primal fights or in dungeons where you need to be consistently moving to avoid death. I can only imagine how long the animation lock for some wyvern to fly in, scoop me up, and fly up into the air with me would be. I'd guess just using the WS once would likely result in you dying to eruptions or plumes on Ifrit.

Do you really want to gimp the DRG again by giving it even MORE animation lock and making it less desirable on fights where if you don't dodge X ability you die?

Also, this whole "DRG should have some form of pet" thing should be dead by now. DRG was never a pet reliant class in the rest of the FF series, only FFXI made that mistake, and killed the DRG class in the process by gimping the hell out of it with a pet that died all the time and did no damage. The history of the DRG was always based on Jump skill sets, Lancet, and assorted dragon-based abilities; not actual dragon comrades.

There was a poll a while back, still on the front page of the Lancer & Dragoon forums, about who would want a pet for their DRG, and it was pretty much a landslide in favor of NOT having a pet. (60 for/160 against last I looked). Most the people who care enough to speak up on the forums and help guide the direction of this class do not want a pet.

I would like to see Dragon as a summon that just swings by, ---ts on an enemy, or heals the PT depending on stats like what XI had set up for them, and then leaves. By Dragon, I mean a big dragon, maybe on a cooldown of 120 Seconds. I could picture the Dragoon having a spiritual link with this Dragon and be able to speak to it through this bond.

Dragoons traditionally have never had pets and please keep it that way. Stop beating the dead horse.

Not that i'm in support of a DRG pet dragon. However perhaps a way to have a something like this and to avoid the animation lock is to find a different way to do so.

If the "attack" was more of /point that let you move after, and then the swooping/diving/element breathing attack came in on its own. Most sides could be appeased.

Example: Names may be lame but bare with me.

    Dragon Swoop
Instant cast: Player animation lets say /point with sparkles!
Player animation is now over. you can move.

Sky darkens and Dragon/wyrm/whatever swoops down and swipes its claws at the enemy.

If the actual dragon animation is seperated from the casting animation then you could get both.

However personally, i'm more of a fan of DRG being a lance user with his/her own abilities (please some more neat looking ones besides Jump, jump some more and extra jumpy jumpness too. I'd like some kick arse lance spinning kicking and stabby stabby added aswell.)

But thats my peace proposal. Enjoy!

I would like to see a dragon as familar that follows the dragoon around and possibly as the dragoons mount added auto atk and added dmg to WS
