Other games do this and it works beautifully. As the current state of it becomes more and more sour over time, I say just pick up the damn vase and smash it on the ground to see what's inside. Adjustments can be made as needed while the players cavort in the pile of pieces.

    Yeah, brilliant idea.

Break it and piss players off so the few that can't handle either doing their lower level abilities or just not queuing for leveling roulette when higher level can be satisfied with a system they think will work but will have to be nerfed the higher level player so heavily that it lands on the other side of fun and is miserable again.

I see that plan going just swimmingly.

Also, I'm curious as to which MMOs have nailed this? Besides WoW, of course, which I've already detailed on how what it does is different than level sync and why using it as a direct comparison is a mistake.

I wouldn't even say WoW nailed it. Anyone who thinks someone at level for Timewalking does the same damage/healing/etc as someone synced down from 110 is out of their damn mind.

On topic: While on a selfish level it would be great to have all my skills, I don't want to do that at the expense of newer players getting to experience the dungeon (mostly) as intended. I have the option to either not queue for levelling roulette or leaving the dungeon if I get one that is too low level for my liking.

Rift not only scales you down but also up in level for dungeons. GW2's scaling is pretty spot-on as well. WildStar's scaling isn't perfect (still a bit overpowered if you're level 50 queueing for random normals), but it works and they'll continue to tweak it.

Honestly I just hate how boring rotations are at low levels in this game. There is absolutely zero fun in spamming 2-3 buttons in a dungeon you could complete half asleep. Maybe if the dungeons were more interesting, that would make up for it, but they're not...

Who cares about someone being able to "compete" with you? Baby Ifrit is only 4 players anyway.
