I'm using an Xbox360 controller on the PC, what's annoying is that it's not clear what all the button shortcuts are (like that LT + up/down = scroll through enmity list) but once you figure them out (or look them up online), it's pretty good.

However, the reason I'm replying to this thread is that I used to play Tera with a Gamecube controller (and the only reason I'm not using it with FF14 is because I can't find my USB adapter for it as that's my favorite controller of all time). I used a program called xbox360ce and it would let my computer think my GC controller was a 360 controller and I could use it for any game that supported 360 controllers - which I'm sure you can guess a lot more games support that one than the GC so it was an absolute necessity.

If FF14 gives you any issues with using the Switch Pro controller directly, using xbox360ce is a good workaround.

Excuse the double post, I just wanted to add I'd use it for gathering. Combat-wise I stick to KB+M

The game will use any controller your computer recognizes, but it won't let you do anything special that the controller can do with its native console. I can't even get the Dualshock 4 touchpad to work even though there's an option for it.

The Nintendo Switch controller can only be used on PC via a bluetooth connection, so if your computer doesn't have bluetooth you'll have to buy a USB dongle. While the controller is detected through USB, but doesn't actually let you use it through USB. (I know, I tried on my bluetoothless desktop gaming rig. Only got it to work when pairing it on my laptop with bluetooth).

As for actually using it, it's certainly playable. Though I'd imagine it might take some getting used to to do the D-pad abilities since the sticks are asymmetrical.
