Like someone already mentioned before /ac Shirk <2> is the solution to that or whatever the off tank positon is on your party list. It will never fail to hit the right target.
No need to focus, or manage the aggro list just voke and push the button for max efficiency.
Or use it during a tank swap after the off tank voked it off you. No need to target him.

I always have the other tank on focus to watch his stacks, that's why I thought to target my focus target, thanks again everyone good read for me here.

This macro doesn't affect your DPS in the slightest though. So it's okay in my book.
You just have to hammer it a bit after a GCD since it's not queued.

uhhh.. care to elaborate? there is absolutely no reason you cant macro battle abilities.. i assume you just were told that but dont know why. any sort of wait delays in a macro is the reason why you dont macro them for battle. ones like these i would recommend to everybody.

Macros don't queue properly, even for non-GCD actions. Generally you want to avoid using them, except with awkward stuff like Cover/Intervention/party TBN where you can use a mouseover macro to make things more convenient. Shirk is another one I use because I generally do it a time where it won't conflict with my other off gcd stuff.

I took Shirk for this express reason.

There's nothing wrong with macroing oGCDs. Voke and Shirk with call outs are fairly useful. Clicking someone to Shirk them can actually make you lose an auto-attack, so technically the macro is a dps gain.

Using shirk without a macro requires detargeting your target, which is a hell of a lot worse than using a macro for an off-gcd party-targeted ability.

In general I agree, don't macro anything you can avoid macroing. Not macroing shirk is a mistake.

There are a lot of good uses of macros. You can macro Embrace on SCH and force your fairy to precast heals on the tank while you DPS, for example. Intervention, Shirk, TBK (OT only), Salted Earth, Cover are all also good uses of macros.

Macro-Bard is bad. Don't do that.

Also, write your macros well. Make <2> or <mo> first or else you'll have to wait while it goes through your list before getting to the one you actually want. Macros should be 2 lines at the longest for abilities like this.
