When to use intervention?

So I am enjoying PLD now awesome changes and I like it a lot a great break from siphon strikes.

I wanted to ask when is the best use for intervention the most mobs don't even do damage that much that we can use it, not even storm splitter.

BN at least helps me DPS and hence I use on tank buster for MT, stack mechanics etc.

Can any one help me understand the use of intervention as it's not just a cover.

Still working out the details on it myself, but generally I'll toss it to anyone whos going to take a good chunk of dmg soon, whether it's a tank buster or a healer/dps heavy dmg mechanic. Kindof tricky to get out in time, if I can flip my mindset out of tank mode into healer mode its pretty easy, just not used to flipping it on the fly for more timing precise things.

It's for OT to use when the MT is out of cooldowns and you don't want to swap.

Give the MT a free cooldown for the buster so that he can keep going.
