Hi,

I just restarted my Final Fantasy XIV account a few days ago and I noticed other players cannot see my chat messages. The only types of communication that does show up on their screens are emote messages.

This was an issue with my character a few years ago when I played but I was unable to ever get a GM response due to the generally high volume of calls that were happening at the time. If you could, please help. Ultimately I have to rely on my wife to send messages to my friends from her character.

At the moment, the most significant discovery is that my chat functionality works while I'm in a Duty/Trial. Which makes me believe there is something to do with my character and the server Adamantoise. My chat funtionality works if I create another character on a different server.

I've sent this request in game attempting to contact a GM and they requested I post this here in the Bug Forums. Thanks again for your help

Check to make sure you're using the correct chat mode.

Thanks, but unfortunately it is a bug with the actual character/server combo itself.

The only chat modes that are visible to other players are if I emote. Party/Say/Shout/Linkshell/FC chat all shows my text that I'm saying in my chat log, but other players cannot see it.

The only time I can use party chat is in a Duty/Trial, in which case, my messages show up to my party members.
