    Are the lvl70 MNK's having fun?

    Hi guys,

    I was curious to know if after reaching lvl 70 that mnk players were finding the class to actually be a lot more fun that initially thought.

    I share the concern about the recast penalty with riddle of fire and the lack of new weaponskills to play with but as I'm only 62 on mnk I'm interested to know if the enjoyment has started to shine through after all the worries.

    The main reason for asking is that after AST, MNK has been my go to class for content and I'm wondering what peoples top level experiences are

    to me is only fun meanwhile i have the speed, as soon as i hit RoF a part of me dies, the only time i actually had fun as monk currently was when i did susano ex, and not because how monk is, but because how that trial is

    MNK is incredibly fun, I am loving RoF personally. It feels so good since it pairs with brotherhood and you get to fire off FCs like its nothing at the best of times. I honestly think deep meditation is the best thing to happen to MNK after form shift.

    Riddle of Fire is miserable to use, whoever decided that Monk should go slower should be fired. It's literally like making a skill that keeps a Dragoon from Jumping or a Ninja from using their Ninjutsu. I miss having Touch of Death and Fracture to delay my combo when I disengage so I could milk Demolish for every tick it had. It's exactly as frustrating as ever when a boss jumps or goes invulnerable because Riddle of Earth has such stupid requirements for activation. Why they decided Monk needed a whole new ability instead of just REDUCING PERFECT BALANCE'S COOLDOWN TO 60 SECONDS will never make sense to me. Tackle Mastery is so much of a non-entity it shouldn't exist.

    Brotherhood and Deep Meditation are fine skills however, Brotherhood needs some tweaking so it doesn't restrict Monk to physical compositions. It sucks to have two mage DPS in an eight mans and not have a flurry of activity when chakras start popping off.

    Reading the job guide I initially thought I would hate it so I jumped ship to SAM, but I decided to give it another shot since it was my favorite class and I'm glad i did. I personally like RoF as it is. That huge burst damage is nice plus it gives us a little bit of breathing room to weave in ogcds. Deep Meditation needs a little bit of tweaking I feel like. RNG on RNG is just a little meh. It rarely works to my advantage. I would like to have Steel Peak to give us a stack just so we have that one skill that's a sure fire to give us something. Riddle of Earth I found useful on some cases but I agree that it needs a little bit of work with the refresh. Tackle mastery is just garbage. Brotherhood is fine but it depends on your party if the other dps are casters you're at a disadvantage. I mean I'm sure they will tweak it but for now I'm enjoying it. Gonna main monk again!

    I'm enjoying it, but its kind of a downer when youre in a caster heavy party. I'd like to see them adjust Brotherhood so it boosts all damage, and also can receive chakra stacks when a spell is cast.

    I'm conflicted, but somewhat happy with it
    Deep Meditation is good. I hate RNG, but it's alright.
    Riddle of Earth is useful sometimes, but I don't like it. I'd much rather prefer a 'press button to refresh stacks' or a PB cooldown reduction than what it is currently, buy it's not terrible.
    Tackle Mastery is insultingly terrible.
    Riddle of Fire is aggravating, clunky, and countercurrent to what a Monk is, but it's a good ability, so I don't dislike it
    Brotherhood sounds good (level 69 rn) but it's stupidly picky, and I'm a little miffed that it doesn't directly impact you, only indirectly
    All things considered; MNK isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I have issues with almost every ability it got.

    Job plays fun at 70 with RoF and all. My only problem are the four useless abilities: Tornado Kick, One Ilm Punch, Fist of Earth, and Fist of Wind (and the useless trait that goes with the last two).

    Nope, I don't enjoy MNK anymore. Riddle of fire is awful, I don't like RNG with deep meditation and I really miss fracture and touch of death because the rotation is dreadfully boring now. Monk was my favorite job and now I don't want to play it anymore.

    Monk still has plenty of useless skills too. Extremely disappointing expansion for MNK. I was really hoping they'd add on to MNK with GL4 and maybe a new form after coeurl or something. Instead they just ripped the fun out of MNK.

    It mostly plays the same and is still reasonably enjoyable. The Stormblood additions only introduced problems however, with Riddle of Fire being anathema to what the job has been since inception and deep meditation introducing some unpleasant RNG to our DPS output.
