Linking Market Wards to all 3 Cities

Why not link the market wards to all 3 cities? Nobody puts their retainer in Limsa Lominsa or Gridania, and nobody goes anywhere but Uldah to shop. This way people could go to Limsa and Grid to try for guild leves with marks and maybe even *gasp* stay there for awhile without having to go back to Uldah every time they are missing a material, run out of shards to grind with, need to upgrade their gear, etc.

I understand it would create a discrepency having people enter from 3 different cities and end up in the same place, but honestly who cares? It's a Final Fantasy game, some unrealistic instances can be afforded. It might even prove beneficial in the absence of a Delivery system to have your friend in another city meet you in the conjoined wards to trade items, then you could each exit to whatever city you entered from and go about your business there, but not exit to another city.

I agree. I proposed this solution along with others 5 months ago in an analysis of the depopulations of Grid and Limsa and how to fix it. I'm glad that some of the solutions have been implemented, but as we all can see, it still hasn't worked.

Was about to make this thread. Glad I don't have to. Not sure how the AH will work, but this idea should apply to it as well. If MW still exists after 1.20, please link them. If AHs are not linked between all 3 cities in 1.20...well, please do that :P

I spend most of my time in Gridania. But have to waste anima or 5000 gil to travel to Ul'dah. Also, I liked the way the inside of the wards in each city were different. Could you keep them the same style, but have them all linked?

Ooh...didn't they say something like you'd be able to purchase stuff from the wards via the item search UI? Maybe they can show stuff being sold in other cities and levee a tax for "shipping and handling" if you purchase from a different city. That'd be kind of cool!

OMG YES PLEASE! I hate being in griddy and need to buy an item and its NOT THERE. SO I have to go ALL THE WAY back to Uldah with a rentabo JUST so I can find that ITS NOT THERE EITHER X>X.

All they would need to add is some lore about a delivery system, heck, we have the ability to teleport, so it would make since that I could buy an item from the search and pay a small "delivery" fee to have it delivered from Ul'dah... (this would happen instantly) but it would still open up the ability to place retainers in different cities without losing out the shopping in Ul'dah.

But along with player search, this will be one way to get people back more and more into the other cities.
