New Jobs and their starter level.

I know Yoshi P said that experience gained while playing as a job would also be applied to their corresponding class. It was my understanding that the jobs can be unlocked at level 30. The question is will the job be level 30 not matter what when you unlock it or will correspond with the level of the preceding class? Seems like it would be a benefit to the community as a whole if they would all start at 30 no matter what. While my opinion is most certainly biased, it just seems to make more sense for them to start at 30 regardless since the jobs are to be focused towards party based play more than solo content. We all start at the same level so it encourages party play. Perhaps less time waiting for a party to form. This is speculation of course.

As far as I'm aware. The jobs in a nutshell are simply equipping an item to give you more skills and modifying your stats.

As the previous poster said, all job switching is is equipping a job stone. It's essentially a new "mode" for your class so it will be tied to the class's level.

If you unlock a job at 50, it starts at 50 -- or what ever your class level may be so as long as it is 30 or above.

It's not so much a new class, just the same class with a few extra abilities balanced by various restrictions.

Again it makes me wonder why they don't just get rid of the armory system.

They pretty much are, aren't they? Seems they've been adding a lot of gear that "requires" certain levels and/or classes.

They've only said that jobs would be limited as to what they can cross-class, but not exactly how this would be limited. Thinking about it recently, though, our action bars would be extremely full if they added new abilities on top of our old ones (and Archer would not have any room at all for Bard-exclusive abilities) so I'm thinking they may just be reducing the number of Cross-class slots we get while on Jobs and using those slots for Job skills.

actually there are only 5 job abilities and we have exactly 5 open hotbar slots now because of this I wouldnt be surprised if jobs didnt limit cross class abilities since they revamped them anyways and made a lot already exclusive.
