How many people have multiple houses?

What exactly constitutes an 'unusually high price' to the point it's not allowed and reportable? More than the cost of the plot itself? I'm not being cynical, I'm genuinely curious.

I believe it was left ambiguous on purpose so that the GMs could decide for themselves on a case-by-case basis. I personally report anyone I see charging double or more. There should be a bit of a cushion above the plot price for the permit, irretrievable items, etc. But again, that is my personal feelings, after that it's up to the GMs if they want to take action.

Take note that reddit is not run by Square and thus Square doesn't have a say in the matter. Recent attempts at selling houses on these forums have been removed and the FFXIV reddit site has disassociated itself from the other subreddit. If it's allowed, why would people be utilizing 3rd party sites instead of in-game methods?

I get that but i guess it doesn't change the fact that people are regularly selling houses and buying houses to sell without getting banned. It's like if a bank said "you can't steal money from us" and then let 100s of people steal money from them.

If SE wanted to stop this from happening why wouldn't they put something like a random timer on abandoned houses (e.g. if you abandon a house a random number is generated between 1 hour and 5 days). Or add a lottery system to purchasing new/abandoned plots.

It just seems like this is one of those "don't do it" and then everyone does it anyways thing.

SE could have done a lot to stop something like this from happening but they did not, which is really sad.

I have no words for this two players that bought that many houses..its quite telling what sort of humans they are..

I have one house, but have considered an apartment either at my FC's house or Kugane. I don't understand having more then a single house other then to show how rich you are and to make more money selling the property eventually to someone else.

I have only one house, but I really wish I could share the house with my alts. And have more slots to share with friends. Have to keep rotating them. :S Have a friend who uses my house's stable for chocobo, another who likes to use training dummy and some who want to use my vendors/bells etc. or just come and say hi while I'm crafting.

Yes, I have more than one. I have my FC house and my personal house on my main. And I have a couple of tiny cottages for a couple of alts I play with my husband. We are roleplayers and they are their little hideaways. I had noticed the plots were idle for weeks each time and had the thought, hmmm, maybe I can buy that and share with this alt or that alt of hubby and decorate it like this to fit them. When I'm not playing those alts with hubby, I use the facilities for gardening or there is one where my friend is a tenant and he borrows the garden.

I read through the response from the two who own all of those on Mateus. The houses were there and available. They had the gil and the desire to do something with them, even if it was something that others don't value as much like decorate. If this had never become a server that many people moved over to, this never would have been an issue.

See, you're actively using the houses for roleplay. These people decorate and will probably never visit most of these houses again, except perhaps once every now and then to make sure they don't get demolished. Like, really? Come on, now.

These players have done nothing wrong.

They played on a server with plots that were available for a very long time. The system allowed them to buy them and they maintain them.
Now that people have come into the server in great numbers, I really hope they are not being harassed.

The housing system has many flaws and this is just one of them. Maybe something like this will encourage them to give the system some huge upgrades, like Alt sharing and storage to name one.

Technically... I own 4 houses. The FC house (which I consider all members who pooled the gil to be owners) my personal house, my husbands personal house and 1 alt's house. I have full and equal rights to all of them even if my name isn't there. SE lets me and since the housing system is so very limited, I fill the void with more plots.

I worked hard to get these plots too, I transferred to a congested server and through diligence, patience and a little bit of luck I managed to get them somehow as they relinquished from other players one by one.
I actually took a break and lost a medium plot last year! Totally my own fault but that's life.

Right from the start I would have preferred a tiny instanced cottage that you could upgrade with a lot of time, materials and gil. Add new rooms, make rooms bigger, build your own gardening plots, expand everything! I don't care if I have to gather 1000 soils to make a huge gardening patch! It would have been more engaging then a rush/competition against other players for plots where we cant even determine which way the house faces or bans us from using a glade style house in the mist ><
