Why are some GC rewards better than other companies?

Example:

Gridanian Shortbow - DMG:79 Acc.+30 Delay:3.5s

Ul'Dahn Composite Bow - DMG 93 Acc.+15 Attk.+25 Delay 4s


I'm sure you can guess my main is ARC....and you can also guess I have signed up for Gridania.

It is quite a drastic difference in stats for both being rank 50. I understand a shortbow will obviously have less damage than a longbow/composite....but I think the gap is a little too large.

I read in a thread somewhere on here about a shield being alot better than another from different companies. You would think the dev's would make them similar to each other with 'slight' pros and cons, but imo there is no point in attaining something with GCseals that are mediocre compared to other companies/MW.

Does anybody else agree?

Heh same thing with lance. other cities get dmg 145 grid get dmg 125 one. even weaker than the crafted version.

ya Yoshi-P did say something like do not choose the company for the rewards, choose a company you like. However, it seems to me they will be fair and balance all weapon and gear spec. Nope, it's not. It's pretty much sorry Ul'dah is the real city. everyone else should get punished if you are not with Ul'dah...

Ul'dah get the best DD belt, best crafter gears, best this best that...
I guess just wait. nothing else can be done.

In comparison to any other belt in the game, that is a joke. Where is the balance in gear?

I think there is a guy in a back room with a bottle of mountain dew and a packet of cheesy puffs that just presses a 'generate stats' button and sticks it on whatever he wants.

Yeah, that's the sad part... I was comparing my current bow to the Gridanian Shortbow and found it ridiculous. Aside from better damage on the Shortbow, the materia on my current bow tops this one. 16 ACC and 16 DEX melded into it. Much as I love it looking different and everything, the Serpent Sergeant's Tunic I worked hard to get seals for is just barely better than a rainmaker's tunic. But even then it's just a copy of the dated tracker's tunic (brown). I only got it for the sake of having decent body gear and not looking like everyone else.

EDIT: I take it back about the tunic, aside from the Flame Sergeant's Shirt (20 Evasion 10 Accuracy 7 Mind) the Tunic from the Twin Adder isn't so bad after all. Alpine War might be the best overall though.

why dont you show the lominsan bow? with its 3.3 speed, it is the best of them. 22/23 of the dps on ifrits bow, being the second best weapon for archer dps-wise.
