    A lot of times we'll get groups with 2 ranged or 2 magic DPS and they forget the thing even exists because we usually end up not needing it.

    And even if they don't forget it exists.... it is too weak, anyways. I don't get why those abilities don't have modifiers or such for hitting single-targets so that they are at least as powerful as the melee LB.

    Hit 1 target with it? It does the same damage as the melee LB.
    Hit 2+ targets with it? It does the same damage it does now.

    I see that as more of the LB itself being not balanced very well. A group that has 2 magic/ranged DPS doesn't have access to that LB that shears a huge chunk off the last boss and therefore the last boss will need to be fought that much longer, giving the group a clear disadvantage. But yet, in Roulettes, you can't exactly choose your group unless you go in with 2 DPS from the start.

    I have a macro on my tank/healer with a countdown attached to it saying something akin to "look at that limit break...if a DPS won't use it I think I will! /countdown10

    Sad to say, I usually get to use it at the end of the countdown lol. Never been kicked for it but the silence the other team members give me is deafening! Lol

    It seems like nobody uses it anymore on my datacenter. Unless I play DPS I never see it used. How about a new challenge log: Use Limit Break effectively. I know , I know , this would exclude tanks. Hey what if you get credit for party members as well though?

    People who are new might not use it unless they are told for fear of being yelled at.
    I can't say for highers levels but it doesn't seem to matter that much unless you are doing harder trials.

    Today I was doing some leveling on WHM and out of curiosity checked LB damages. I did 2 runs of Shisui of the Violet Tides. On first run, none of the DDs used LB before last boss, when melee used it (LB2) for 84 800 damage (189 DPS for the fight). On second run, a caster used it on last big pull before second boss for 141 131 damage (around 400 DPS for that pull I think) and there was a full LB1 bar at the start of last boss fight (we got LB2 which the melee didn't use...)

    So yeah, caster LB1 seems definitely worth using on big pulls and is the most beneficial way of using LB in dungeons, I would assume using melee LB2 didn't cut 189 dps from the melee (who had 1100 dps excluding the LB) in final boss fight, so that's probably worth using as well if you get one, and using LB1 at least right before second boss still lets you have a full LB1 bar before last boss, so there's no reason to save LB for last boss even if you want to use LB2 on that.

    Melee LB2 locks the melee in place for five-6 seconds unavoidably, as well as another second for the lock at the end. It is most definitely a dps loss depending on the melee, particularly if it's a MNK, DRG, or SAM. The only one that doesn't suffer a loss is NIN, and even then I'd prefer the ranged to do it.

    I still refuse to touch non LB3.

    I get annoyed when people don't LB3 once it's up for Susano Ex... you can LB3 early, then LB1 to finish off.

    People wait until 5%... then wipe from enrage.

    In my experience thus far, it's because I can deal the same DPS as the Limit Break, once you account for the unmarked stun that follows. As a SAM, depending on the period in rotation, it can be an outright raid DPS loss. Even an LB2 barely does 6-7% against most SB bosses, over a long cast, animation, and following stun (though not as bad, relatively as LB1's). So if potentially lethal mechanics are going out, I'll just keep DPSing normally and finish the fight some 3 seconds later. If I can just barely finish the boss off with the LB, then I'm more like to use it.

    With bosses before the final, I tend to use it as a melee after the opening salvo of CDs (if I have support/utility included therein), though, or immediately as a non-melee.
