Why won't you limit break?

I usually use it on trash if the tank pulls especially big. Since I play casters, I don't usually use it on bosses unless there's no melee or they forgot and the boss is almost dead.

I don't really understand the mindset of "My deeps" or "I hate not having two bars for the last boss" though. The whole point is to do a bunch of damage and speed things along. At least of the dps limit break. Better to get two LB uses and help two fights/pulls go faster than save it do the whole friggin dungeon and save it on one boss to me.

Exactly!!! I wish we were on same datacentre so I could have you in my parties limitbreaking away. And as a caster, I love limitbreaking huge pulls, especially if I can see the DPS I added by doing that!

I'm so used to internally raging about the lack of LB as a healer that whenever I play DPS I use that thing every time I can. It seems to be a law of the game that the person most suited to using it never notices it's there.

I 100% agree with this as well! It's so weird hearing about DDs "tunnel visioning" and forgetting about it, when I immediately notice us getting it as healer or tank, and it's not even my job!

I've been main healer, and whenever I DPS I can ensure you the first thing I do is make sure I get to use LB (assuming my LB is the most beneficial to the party in that content of course). I just consider it to be a part of the DDs' job to handle it the most beneficial way.

You are not everyone, and everyone is not you. I said, DPS can tunnelvision or forget. I never said you did. I am addressing the fact the playerbase doesn't play perfectly everytime.

So mistakes happen. While it is part of the DPS's job, forgetting to LB happens. It's why as a tank/heal main I simply remind DPS to LB when neccessary and boom, a LB follows. Hence why it is never a peeve of mine.

I only lb crowds when told to because theres still people who go batshit insane if lb gets used on anything thats not the final boss and so I just bite the bullet and avoid drama.

Even though Baelsar's wall drilled it into us that you can lb just before the final boss and still get 2 bars at the proper time those crazies still exist.

I give the melee jobs a chance to use it on boss, if they don't use it I use it on a big pack with my RDM.

This is me, tanking, during the last 15% of the last boss, wondering when the DPS will wake up and use the fully charged tier 2 LB;



and at 10%;



and at 5%;



LB used at 1%.....

You didn't do anything wrong. The earlier you use it (when it's good time in your rotation and it's safe to use it), the better.

Just FYI - in dungeons, 99% the time an LB is better spent on an AoE trash pull; cast by a Ranged DPS or Caster DPS. An LB on a boss doesn't do more than cut a few GCD cycles off the fight, which is unlikely to make any major difference or speed the fight up by more than a few seconds.

An Lb on a trash pack however can clean it up in no time at all; so waiting for the tank to make a huge pull then popping an AoE LB is the absolute best use of it.

Cause I main BLM and was yelled at one too many times using it during early ARR. Although I will use LB3 on things that don't matter, like Ifrit hard mode in trial roulette.
