Red Mage Opener- What do you think?

I have not watched video (will when i get home) but Red Mage really could grab aggro fairly quick.
Myself i prefer to use embolden during mellee combo and use Contre Sixte before i back flip and then cast flare or holy

Fleche and Contre Sixte are physical damage; they're buffed by another RDM's Embolden, but not your own so there's no point in holding them back. For personal DPS, I believe the optimal time to cast Embolden is directly before Redoublement so that it and Holy/Flare get the full benefit. For overall group benefit, coordinate with your physical DPS. Lining it up with your NIN's Trick attack or giving your SAM's initial Hide-a-banana (1500+ potency if properly self-buffed) the full is 10% is a much larger total damage gain.

I'd agree with this as well, being as you want to ensure that when you activate Embolden you get the full use out of it for your spell damage. Using it any sooner than Redoublement means you're losing time on it, since it weakens every 4 seconds after being popped. Personally I use Embolden before/after my melee combo because I like to get the full use from spell casting and building up into it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. In the video I'm mostly talking about personal dps gained, so it's nice to hear some opinions about how to properly use it in group settings depending on comp. TBH, I've only been playing FF14 for a couple of months and am still figuring out everything. I started playing right when Red Mage was first announced because I've always loved it in the other games. Thanks for the comments everyone!
