There's been all sorts of many good potential suggestions brought up in this thread. So perhaps it might be worth leaving a question in the Ask Questions for Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXXVII! (Exploring Patch 4.0) thread about whether SE would be willing to consider improving Living Dead in some way. Since now truly is the best time to be making our voices heard after all!

As a healer I would welcome at least an indicator informing me I have done the required amount of healing. Currently I spam heals until I see Walking Dead drop off just to be safe. It's usually enough to top the tank off but I cannot know for certain they hadn't eaten an odd crit. When Paladins use Hallowed Ground, they give me some breathing room, when Dark Knights use Living Dead, they give me a panic attack. It's all part of their "strength is pain, strength is suffering" philosophy, I guess.

So to reiterate, you don't need to top the tank off for Living Dead, you just need to heal them for their full HP. So if they have 43,000 HP you need to do 43k in heals, but they can be at half HP at the end of it and it'll be fine.

I also wish there was a visual effect for "Walking Dead", though a macro does work fine for pugs.

I will never fully understand Living Dead from a balancing standpoint. Even if we had an Equilibrium clone that we could pair with it, it would still be arguably weaker than Holmgang.

No other job in the game has a skill that not only does nothing in the absence of another person (a healer, in this case) but kills you if it goes off.

If they want to keep Living Dead in its current form in terms of mechanics, its duration (of both the activation period and the WD buff) needs to be extended significantly. I feel that even 15s/15s would not be imbalanced considering the power and ease of use that the other tanks enjoy.

I honestly can't believe that living dead hasn't been touched since release, it's the dumbest thing. A tank cooldown that will kill you unless another player who may not even know what it does or how it works, because not every healer has played dark knight, does something about it.

Rather than just adding flashing lights that probably won't even help, I'd rather they just change the move. Walking dead should give you a 200% hp drain on physical attacks while it's active (that stacks with souleater hp drain) so the DRK can recover their own health rather than relying on a healer to do it. A tank's ultimate cooldown should not kill them regardless of their OWN efforts.

I'd love this, but I think if they ever intended to change how the the skill works they would have with stormblood unfortunately. I honestly think Living Dead is the most lame ability in the game.

Make living dead light up like a combo during walking dead at the cost of max blood gauge to purge walking dead.

You could have: once Walking Dead is triggered, all attacks inflicted on DRK are converted to health restores.

Walking Dead does not have early falloff (ticks for 10 seconds, after 10s DRK either dies or doesn't). Since DRK is invulnerable to attacks, it's an easy to read whether or not the DRK will die - is he at full HP yet or is he not? Barrier spells like TBN and Galvanize are converted to heals or simply have no effect while Walking Dead is up.

Consistent identity to Blood Price and TBN where DRK wants to get hit. Hit hard. To that end, maybe add an additional effect under Grit: Vulnerability Up +20-30% while under the status Walking Dead.

Since it's not so great in 1 big-hit situations, during the initial Living Dead buff, health restores deal damage instead of heal. This can force trigger Walking Dead before the hit. I dunno, just remove the 'DRK dies' gimmick entirely instead. Whatever HP value they got once Walking Dead falls off is what they're left with.

Truth be told, the 3 ultimate cooldowns all could use some visual appearance for the rest of the group. Quite often I pop hallowed ground, and the healer is still blasting his/her ass off trying to top me off, eventhough they have 10 seconds to do so. Next to this, in some duties I tend to pop it so they can go AoE crazy for 10 seconds without focussing on me at all.

That aside, I do agree Living Dead needs this visual indicator alot more then the other 2 tanks. The other 2 tanks would be a welcome bonus.

Yeah, that would be great. The more PuG clarity, the better.
