    Feral beast race?

Would love to see a feral beast race, bored of neko's and weird lizard people...

A burmecian race like from FFXIV would be sweet and doesn't really need much work with armors and stuff. As for how many people that would be interested... everyone always fantasia to the latest race anyway to check it out. Always played beast races in WoW and other MMO's like the Tauren / Worgen "WoW", Charr "Guildwars", Chua "Wildstar"..

Before the anti-furries start hating, i like creativity

Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, it's written into the lore that beast tribes can't be playable races due to the whole Warrior of Light thing and beast tribes cannot be warriors of light, since each beast tribe has a primal attachment to them (often one group for, one against said primal), but their fates are intertwined. As a result, adding a feral beast race would work in a similar vain to beast tribes and would therefore break a lot of lore.

Not only that, but due to the way that FFXIV handles armour and clothing, they can't use anything other than variants of existing races as attempting to make it fit those new proportions would be too much. It's why Au Ra are basically Hyurs with horns and scales.

GG. Retconned my own first point by not fully understanding the lore. There is something regarding the warrior of light and feral races though that prevents them from happening. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the lore can expand on that point for me.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

Thats weird, the Au Ra was made a playable race out of the blue... even miqo'te's are considered warriors of light... Beast tribes and other beast races can always be split up by any means... I don't see how beasts should always worship a primal...

Except that they absolutely do need to work with armors and thus will never happen.

To call Miqotes and AuRa a beast race is just plain wrong. They both look very human. Beastmen tribes may have humanoid forms but none of them even look human. To be fair to you, even humans can summon a primal as we've seen on 2 occasions.

SE needs to first address the issue with current races by adding in an equal amount of options to the CC.

Stormblood managed to toss every previous rule and excuse to us lacking more beastly races right out the window.

The whole super animalistic race rule being undoable because "differences" got tossed with the Lupin. They live among the Domans as regulars. Even the beast tribe murdering Garleans conscript them with the rest, insofar as to make a unit for them. Their theiving group in Yanxia smacks of the same treatment as the Coeurlclaws and Redbellies of the Shroud. So, they is a precidence against that. And they are STRAIGHT UP wolf furries.

The tribal belief rules got muddy with the Xeala tribes. Each tribe is extremely faithful to their personal doctrine, and said belief systems vary wildly with only a few similar factors. The only thing keeping the Dawn Father and Dusk Mother from being primals is name alone, especially with the Oromir. These people live and die faith harder than some of the actual beast tribes.

The Ananta fudge appearance rules as hard as the Lupin do, but still consider themselves a seperate kind of personhood from the spoken races. "Ala Mhigo belongs to man and ananta once more."

It's most likely got less to do with lore rules and more to do with the fact that Japanese audiences don't typical enjoy furry races as much as Western ones do. They're not as marketable as cute neko girls.

Viera would only need a slight footwear adjustments... Also a good opportunity to have a race with the female model looking more savage than the male

Ivalice moogles can use similar proportions to current Lalafells. It would be good to have another short race for a change. Also, very feasible lore-wise, for them being a whole different kind of moogle that are less mystical, and more evolved to cope with the ambient.
