PVE and PVP and different mains

I was just thinking about my current situation with the game in both PVE and PVP (I personally love the PVP changes) - and I realized how different I am in both aspects.

In PVE, I'm undisputedly a healer main. Been in love with WHM and SCH since I started this game (though my SCH love has diminished a bit since Stormblood). I picked up AST on day 1 of Heavensward EA and never left (even when it was shunned and quite underpowered).

However, in PVP, I think healing is uber boring and have found that my top favorite job in PVP is Machinist.

That got me interested to find out if there are a lot of other people out there that have very different PVE and PVP mains.

No, I love it because I have a lot of fun. It's not the only PVP job I love, but it's my favorite.

How is it OP? You still have to slowly build and manage your heat, and lose DPS if you tunnel vision and overheat at the wrong time.

I main a tank (paladin) in PvE since 2.0 - partly because I actually like the responsibility that comes with the job.
When I first went into PvP back in good old Secure days I quickly noticed that my paladin is pretty much useless there - back then it really, really was. All you could do was spam your stun on healers, which felt pretty boring and unrewarding to me.
There was however a constant shortage of healers, so I switched to scholar and stayed with that for PvP pretty much ever since - back then it was totally OP, specially when we still had Cleric Stance... having three melee-dps on you who didnt stood a chance to kill you... hach, good old times! :')

I'm playing bard in both contents aswell - with the changes they've made to PvP I'm not really happy as scholar in there anymore, bard however got way more fun than it was before. Since its level 70 now, with scholar at 53 I'll give my healer a go again - maybe I'll get used to it. I really hope so - I'd like to play a job again that makes me feel "useful" (yes, yes, I know healers arent mandatory - however I used to be kinda good at it and I'd like to be helpful again)
