At least let ACN have the option to queue as a healer or DPS. You really only use one healing spell as a CNJ anyway, Physick is more than enough at low levels. Heck, THM was able to Cure the first few dungeons pre-Stormblood.

So something Yoshi promised was that base classes would be removed completely by 5.0, meaning that all ARR jobs would start instead at level 1. No Conjurer, but instead you'd start off on White Mage. This also means that not only would Summoner and Scholar finally get that split they deserve, but Scholar would also start off at level 1.

I suppose only the next 2 years will tell whether they go through with it or not.

Im glad I got to enjoy the classes in 1.0 and then again when 2.0 launched. The amount of hate for classes from players in this game is unreal lol never will understand.
He didn't promised that. He said the earliest it could happen was 5.0. Also when they actually start thinking about this seriously they will probably realize they can't just remove classes easily. If all the ARR jobs star at level 1, that means redoing a bunch of class/job quests. So instead, they will just still have you still start as a CNJ, but you then get a permanent name change to white mage at level 30. And then the soul crystal inventory space could be removed. OMG I love this, and I don't know what some of those things are, but if it means I get my SCH playstyle back yes, 1000x yes.They really should it wouldn't require much work either. Arcanist quest would remain for arcanist/summoner, and they'll earn everything from 1-30 automatically. As for spells
1.) Ruin = Broil
2.) Bio = Dia (light version of Bio)
3.) aetherflow = stratagems
4.) Summon remains
5.) scholar keeps physick and SMN gets sustain.
6.) energy drain becomes aspir
7.) miasma becomes helix
8.) summoner lose raise for empower (temporarily transform summon into its Demi form.) (+100% attributes)
9.) bane = manifestion
OMG... I just looked up Helux, Why is that not a spell we have, or better yet, why was Bio II and Miasma not upgraded to those, GAH! Listen, I know this isnt XI-2 but learn from it, and steal from it, lol.
Irony though it says that in XI SCH were best at HoT healing and DoT damage. I'll take the Shields but I still want my DoTs.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
because removing them takes a lot of work with little to no benefit for most of the current playerbase. if the existence of classes somehow affect your play on a day to day basis you really are playing the game wrong and that's hard to do.
I suspect that 5.x will abolish classes altogether and they'll make new 1-30 stories for either Scholar or Summoner. I'm not sure what job it would suit most really.So, when you start out(not using jump potions), I feel that it does not make much sense for there to be one healer class. There are two tanks, 5 dps classes, and 1 healer. Therefore, anyone who starts as a healer, has to choose WHM which I feel is a little boring. While I am not saying a nee class should be added(though I feel like it would be a nice idea) I was just wondering what are the benefits of only have one healer class to choose from? I mean, yes, it is probably the easiest healer class....good to teach people, but still. Why not more variety for healers? The next healer class is only available when you get another class(Arcanist) to 30.
