Direct Hit on everything possible pretty much. If it's capped on STR accessories, Crit. I don't think 1613HP or w/e is worth melding VIT.

STR is pretty much the only option for VIT accessories.

Why put dhit on a tank over Det?

520 dhit = 14% proct rate at 25% increased dmg = 3.3-3.5% total DPS increase.

520 det (usin 3.5 pld/drk weights) = around 200 str, which translates to a 5% overall DPS increase.

Or did the stat weights on Det get nerfed in 4.0?

If not, currently tanks should prioritize STR > Det > Dhit > Crit > Ten >= SS. Well, if you have the gil.

Without having the exact weights or data to back this up, essentially yes.

STR is now the sole modifier for attack power, having been reverted to its old calculations apparently effectively means that it's worth twice what it used to be. This has the indirect effect of making secondary stat weights cut in half.

The secondary stats didn't technically change because of this outright, but Dervy presents them in terms of a main stat, not Attack Power, so because of that, they will be different now.

I have melded and unmelded my left side 3 times already... lol, between DH and Crit....and I feel like im going crazy, but crit seemed like it had a bigger impact on my dps. I really wish we could get a solid answer on this, as im attempting to run my own extremely limited testing and am blowing through materia like crazy

As of now, the projected threshold for when Crit overtakes Direct Hit is around 2700-3200, depending on the exact value of Direct Hit, which is yet to be determined.

Depending on the the total crit I have with my current set I will still apply some crit VI materia to my left side. Of course strength on the right. I do however again depending on total crit (mines around 1656) as of right now, I’m applying more direct hit materia VI to my left side. What good is high crit if you can’t hit it regularly enough for it to matter?

Hi, i am new to tanking so I wanna ask about why do most people suggest direct hit for tanks? during my Shinryu ex progression or deltascape 3 savage (yes im still struggling on savage^^) i felt that I died a lot even with cooldowns (the tank busters) and that makes me feel i need to meld everything with tenacity when possible. I meld others with crit.
