PS4 22.7GB Download - Every Power Outage

Every time the power goes out due to a storm or electrical issue, my PS4 has to download the ENTIRE FFXIV client from scratch.

This is now the 4th time I've had to do this.

The problem is that the launcher version is not checking properly.

My PC client is 2017.06.05.0000.0001.

My PS4 client is 2017.06.28.0000.0000.

Please correct this software issue. Players are losing entire days of play time due to this problem, and there is little to no communication regarding a fix.

We need it NOW.

There little communication about it cause they have to wait for Sony to fix the problem, as it relating to a problem with the PS4.

Currently we are receiving numerous calls regarding an issue occurring on the PlayStation®4 in which, if the FINAL FANTASY XIV application is started up after the PlayStation®4 did not shut down properly (such as after a power outage), a version update of over 20GB in size occurs.

We have contacted and informed Sony Interactive Entertainment of the situation, and they are currently investigating and addressing the issue.

We will keep you updated on any new information.

Sony doesn't write the software for a repair tool. SE does.

How have we gone this many years without such a simple and common utility?

If it something to do with the PS4 OS causing the corrupted data when it loses power then no SE would not have any control over that and would need Sony to fix it.

I just moments ago suffered the same fate. I found the above link while researching the issue. I couldn't help but think, "Well, yeah. Of course FFXIV nabbed the title. Look at the issue with PS4."

This isn't my first post. I suggest to make the issue known to the gaming sites that cover the gaming universe. Simply Google "FFXIV Stormblood review" and then post to the publisher what is happenning to you in regards to the redownloading of a client(from a paying subscriber).

It is a big deal. Don't be conned into believing otherwise.

I for one have a bond with Final Fantasy that dates back to 1987. I was nine years old. I hope SE doesn't tarnish this bond by not enforcing the issue strongly Sony's direction.

Just happened to me again! SQUARE ENIX...FIX YOUR DAMN GAME YOU INCOMPETENT IDIOTS!

This was my process. in final fantasy 14 > Hold down PS home button > close game > open Netflix > watch Castlevania > close Netflix > Open FF XIV > download 22.7gb patch > deleted game > calls bank > asks for massive amounts of chargebacks > FF XIV account deleted.

This has been happening for weeks. Why hasn't this been fixed yet? Just got home from work. Excited to play. Power goes out. ETA 323 minutes. Guess 'Ill play tomorrow. Absolutely ridiculous.
