    #deletejumppotion - new/returning players should read this

Edit: I do admit, I may of pulled the topic with the jump potions way to far from the main reason here. It doesnt change the fact that some player attitude is wrong. It doesnt also change the fact that post potion users are either returning players, new players and probably people who dont have time to play/lazy to level. In fact, our veteran/regular players know what they're doing, or atleast know how to communicate, while many new players reject help from outside.
I also admit my first post isnt informativ as much. But if you guys read the following comments, Im sure you'll get a better idea of the situation. I perhaps didnt choose a wise title, I cant change it as well. The real problem yet exists (yes as many said, its not only potion users but still). I will remove my last sentence as well. I do not tend to start a flame war, nor I do expect any sympathy. I want to point out that being "nice" and "helpful" isnt always working. And afterwards people complain in chats why they get booted from the duty. edit:end

I know there are many threads already about this kind of topic. I just would like to point out one more time for those who are returning and/or new players. Especially the ones who are using a jump potion to skip the leveling and jump right into the story (or SB). And I also know this was just a "rare" case, but I still think it is appropiate to mention it once again.

Ive met today a tank who didnt want to listen at all. While I tried to contact him multiple times, no response. He was in the sword oath stance the whole dungeon, we had to deal with the trash mobs (which wasnt a prob in this particular dungeon) thus we didnt kick that person (+ the fact that wait times for a tank replacement is horrible), but I am afraid this guy will experience sour moments later on, when he is in more difficult dungeons. While I read on many other topics not to be mean and be helpful, this one guy didnt even want to. I have to say; if you are not willed to understand and accept others advices and help, dont be suprised why you get booted from the duty.

note: this picture is only showing that he was in sword oath the whole dungeon. I know he didnt loose the aggro at bosses. This is only an example and shall capture the thought of end game dungeons and being not communicative

My advice: Understand that sometimes listening to other players is a must. I know about those "you dont pay my sub" answers, but honestly no ones paying anyones sub, so dont make everyones game experience and time go to waste. Thank you.

To be that person, the chat itself isn't entirely helpful. You ask a question, which he doesn't respond to, then it descends into talking about him as if he's not there and "trying to scare him" about future runs. If you had instead just left a quick message, explaining the benefits of shield oath, this would have been better. "Hey, quick tip! Shield oath has such and such benefit while in party " And then leave it alone.

I admit, I would be truly happy if I had the chance to have a second to give him a proper explanation of enmity and the skill itself. But sadly, this person was just happy about to pull mobs by mobs and giving yet no response. How do you expect to give someone explanations if you dont even know if the person understands english or does even read the chat/ignore it entirely. I also have a job to do inside a dungeon and as well as I do not want to waste my time talking to a wall.

All Im saying is, these players result in getting votekicked later on and then come to the forums and argue why they got kicked from the duty. Coincidence, I wonder?

Wonder if it is the same tank myself and a friend had the other day, lol
She would always give him advice as would i and he would not listen at all, sometimes even go into the boss battles and lock the group out and so on.
I do not really agree with the jump potions but whatever, people do what they want to do

Having no shield oath in Dusk Vigil shouldn't be a problem as that was actually the reality prior to stormblood. He didn't listen, sure. Maybe he's on console and is 10 feet away from his TV idk. Whether he adapts and avoided being booted is not up to you, so you don't need to put so much responsibility on yourself.

I am well aware that this dungeon was a low level dungeon where it should be no harm to go through without shield oath. In fact, the healer got us save and we finished the run in about 30min~. Even if he is that far away, doesnt explain why he isnt switching stances while making pulls and staying only in sword oath for the entire dungeon.

The message here was only to listen to others. As I said, nobody of us votekicked him, we endured him and had the patience. But what will happen on the next levels and new dungeons? Will be people still be patient with silent people like him? Will there be more cases like this?

So why did you not kick them? Instead you helped them to complete the duty and carry on with that attitude.

It is possible your tank was playing with a controller--that can make communicating harder. Also, was the conversation during or in between fights? I am too busy healing to even think of looking at a chat box for anything more than pre-determined shorthand (eg. one RM group decided to macro DD if shiva cast diamond dust since i was having trouble spotting it--i'm legally blind.) when a fight is going on. Further, if the tank did jump it's entirely possible they didn't / don't even know what Shield Oath is. That's annoying, but it's the truth.

Talking about someone like they aren't there is rude, though. If their performance did not seem satisfactory to the group, they should have been kicked. There was no need for drama.

If someone can't even reason with common sense or acknowledge others talking to them, then you just needed to have removed them rather than encouraging it by not taking action.

I'll hazard a guess and say it was because it was a tank and they wanted to just finish the duty. Waiting for a replacement tank to queue in progress can really, really suck. Most times it ends up like waiting in a DPS queue except you're already in the dungeon.
