This tilts me so bad. And triggers me too. These boosted guys painfully, obviously, have no clue about basic mechanics (stack, spread, run away, get close). They don't listen either. Jump potions (boosts) have brought no good, no matter the game (cough, WoW, cough).
I'm disappointed that they haven't gated the end game content more for those who boosted their first jobs. Without having done the content.
This bot talk is amusing. DF turns us all into glorified NPCs, and it seems a lot of people don't tend to feel the need to communicate or show basic civility. This doesn't mean that they are bots. Bad players will always exist, and all you can do it toss out little tips here and there and hope that maybe they will think about it on their end. Don't try to browbeat people in a dungeon and get them to acknowledge your superior knowledge.
This is true, this one time way back, we had this tank in manor that was just AWFUL; like, beyond awful, rolling your face on the keyboard should've gotten better results; walking right up into groups enemies faces attacking them with his sword, never flashing, never waiting. When enemies aggro onto players he'd ignore it and focus his targets 1 at a time, standing in AoE
We kept trying to politely tell him how to do the dungeon, he'd ignore us and keep resolutely marching forth. By the end were were CONVINCED this guy had to be a bot; no human could be this dense and started discussing it aloud by the time we reached the second boss. He got to the final boss room, turned around and said "im not a bot" and bailed on us.
...we were to say the least completely miffed.

It doesn't mean they are, no, but make no mistake... There ARE bots in the game that run dungeons, have been for a long while. Can we prove one way or another? No, but that just means one is as likely as the other and it bears pointing out that it could be the case as well. This bot talk is amusing. ...And how do you know this person used a jump potion? We certainly can't from the screenshots. As far as I can concerned, you just encountered one of the many types of bad players.
The other day, I did Cutter's Cry for mentor roulette. The BLM only used Blizzard and Thunder II. I said something along the lines of, "Hey there. I see you're having trouble playing BLM correctly. What you want to do is use Fire until you're out of MP, then transpose into umbral ice until your MP is full and transpose back. You do this until you reach Fire III and Blizzard III- which allow you to switch back and forth from astral fire and umbral ice without the use of transpose." Never got a response, but instead they started to use drain. At this point, the rest of the party caught on after we downed the first boss. After the loot was dropped (made us wait for the entire timer), we voted kicked them. The person must have caught on what we were waiting on and tried to pull mobs (I stayed in the boss chamber 'cause no one's going to run off if the healer is in another zone), but it was too late.
They got kicked. Thing is, looking at their search info and viewing them, they had a level 60 tank and healer with a level 41 BLM and 22 PUG . While they might have jump potioned one, they didn't for the other (tank or healer) and certainly didn't for the ones under 50. They were just a bad player or simply trolling, because people do that. For some reason.
It's really easy to see who has used a jump potion: they're wearing full shire (unupgraded) with 1 HQ crafted accessory ('cause I boosted my ALT and my husband boosted his own ALT- this is the gear given to jobs). If they haven't touched their gear, this is what they will be wearing. However, from just the main post, it just looks like a complaint while tacking it on as the fault of jump potions to push an agenda.

There are a few ways to tell for sure if an individual used a jump potion. Two of the most obvious ones are:
--Full 260 Shire + weapon + 1 245 Filibuster Ring
--Receives Mapping Achievement upon reaching final boss
Jump potions do not give completion bonuses for dungeons. So if you look at other party members, see multiple 50s, 60s, or 70s for two, and one 60 for one, and there's a bonus message, chances are the one with a singular 60 jumped. Also, if it's an individual like tank or healer, they are probably unfamiliar with dungeon/boss mechanics, and that will be glaringly obvious compared to if the jumper is a DPS.
I highly doubt this tank was a bot. More than likely, they were just ignoring chat. Perhaps that sounds jaded, but maybe that's because a lot of people ignore chat, and ignore advice given, even when it's given in the most friendly of ways. This has been my experience with potion users and non-users. Can't help those who don't want to be (or refused to be) helped, sadly.
I don't think it's limited to just those who used potions. Bad players will be bad, potion or no potion. The fact that people complain about Royal Menagerie and demand that it be nerfed, even though every mechanic present in that fight has been used throughout this entire game, and in 70 levels they should have learned how to dodge basic AOEs but seemingly can't, is testament to that.
(Unrelated, but also: your sig makes me happy. ;_; SJ love. <3)

You guys had slated him before even giving him a chance to respond. As for SOME players who use jump potions, it was the same with FATE's in 2.0, POTD in 3.0 and now Jump potions in 4.0. If the player doesn't want to learn it will make no difference how they get to 70.
Also, what is the image supposed to show? All I see is him ignoring you lot whilst he holds hate with Sword Oath.

I made the screenshot to late, far to late. He was in the stance the whole run. I also said this in previous posts, got lost probably. We had to deal with tanking trash mobs cause he didnt want to change to shield oath (for the whole dungeon). And Im gonna point this out again as well, I know this was easy low level content. Thats why I didnt votekick (+ the fact that waiting for a tank is horrible). Main thought here is what will happen in later engame dungeons and content.

Nah I did see you say that. But the image tells a different story as it totally contradicts it.I also said this in previous posts, got lost probably
