So why did you not kick them? Instead you helped them to complete the duty and carry on with that attitude.

It is possible your tank was playing with a controller--that can make communicating harder. Also, was the conversation during or in between fights? I am too busy healing to even think of looking at a chat box for anything more than pre-determined shorthand (eg. one RM group decided to macro DD if shiva cast diamond dust since i was having trouble spotting it--i'm legally blind.) when a fight is going on. Further, if the tank did jump it's entirely possible they didn't / don't even know what Shield Oath is. That's annoying, but it's the truth.
Talking about someone like they aren't there is rude, though. If their performance did not seem satisfactory to the group, they should have been kicked. There was no need for drama.
Yea sadly he never actually waited. He just ran with his pace and didnt care for others. I mean with <se.1> you can notify someone to check the chat atleast. But yet not response. He stayed in the sword oath stance for the whole fight, while we had to deal with little casualties (we as dps tanking trash mobs, the healer had to heal everyone). He didnt lose aggro on bosses, but I guess thats cause the dungeon was easy.It is possible your tank was playing with a controller--that can make communicating harder. And again, this is just a callout for the harder dungeons and endgame content. People complain about getting kicked in chats and whine about why they get booted. Underperformance is a reason which many dont assume.
You got it right friend. It was a low level roulette, getting replacement for that one during peak hours... is insane wait time.
If someone can't even reason with common sense or acknowledge others talking to them, then you just needed to have removed them rather than encouraging it by not taking action.
I'll hazard a guess and say it was because it was a tank and they wanted to just finish the duty. Waiting for a replacement tank to queue in progress can really, really suck. Most times it ends up like waiting in a DPS queue except you're already in the dungeon.
It isn't like going through the job questline, or even leveling for that matter actually teaches anyone how to play a particular class... This problem existed way before jump potions existed... In ARR when those huge roaming fate parties used to be everywhere, you could hit one skill and afk your way to 50 and the same situation existed.
I am sorry you had to run into this, unfortunately not having the jump potions will only result in lost accounts. Someone who sees the road as too far and doesn't want to start at the beginning.
Some of the arguments are valid, but at the same time like someone said you can't make someone care. I agree this person is going to have a bad time later on down the road. They're going to get into content that people expect to get in and out of. He will pull and try to main tank but without being properly geared or knowing his skill-set, the boss will turn on the party and people will be a lot more harsh.
Not saying you were, a simple question like the first line is enough. When you use the potion you'd figure that person would want to learn more about their job and read tool-tips. Or maybe that's just me, hell I'm reading tool-tips now for my job while at work for something to learn.
Indeed, the console part makes it hard. I got the same backlash but in the end I realized the same thing I tell others. "Buy a keyboard", it's not that expensive to buy a USB keyboard + USB extender to reach your chair. If that's pushing the monthly $$ for you, then you need to reconsider a few other things.
I've had some very positive feedback though from people who used jump potions. I'm not saying for this example, but for others, it was a lot about how you talk to the person and what you're trying to say. There's a difference between "You got shield oath?" vs "omg, you use Tenacity for melds? Do you not know?! Did you not watch the great tanks of youtube and their 80 hour theory crafting!? It.has.math! What?! You think this is a game?!!" "Your opener is sooo not optimal."
Then again the person has to care in the first place.

Maybe it was a tank bot?
My first thought was this. My second thought was maybe they don't speak English. My third thought was, "This has been an issue since before jump potions were added to the game so how does this justify the '#deletejumppotions' tag?"
I've thought about jumping my alt on Diabolos since ours my third alt and I've already done 2 to 60 (my main to all 60s), why should I do it again for a character I made for one specific purpose on another server (which is to attend ASR shows, btw).

Umm well I forgot to mention that his only job was pld at 60 + sprout icon. So assume he bought the jump potion. + if we consider he is a bot, shouldnt we worry about ppl abusing the pot to bot actually? My first thought was this.
