It does need addressing, bot SE has a problem with dealing with bots in general. They still allow gather bots despite people reporting them. I think part of the problem is how SE expects you to report them, a lot of people are not going to bother when the method of reporting them is some online forum to the STF and they are not going to take the time to do that when they see no results.
