I know this is a bit off topic from the thread, but it's like when I try to discuss Latino logic to others who havn't done in depth studies of that culture or who havn't experienced what they have...it's almost like talking to brick wall/ debating with one...conversation goes no where.

knowing how small the populations of this game are now it is silly for them to charge now for sure. SE has no clue what they are doing people just need to accept that for what it is and enjoy the game. People can vote with their wallets in just a few short days anyway.

Business logic also tells you not to provide service that has a forecast for guaranteed loss. Which is what this game is RIGHT NOW. A service with no benefits, only accumulated losses through upkeep costs and no way to regain any of said funds.


But on the other hand Consumer logic tells you to ignore such facts and spew out nonsense instead, claiming it as "business logic".

It's funny though how wrong that logic is in the first place. It's not wrong to charge for a sub-par product if it means more revenue than before. The customer has all the power to pay or not pay regardless.

Sub-par products are never free, and they shouldn't be either. Your logic is out of this world.

People are trying to find any reason why charging would be a bad thing- too bad they are failing miserably. Fortunately you can simply yell louder to make a fuss anyway, regardless of the logic behind said words.

BUT, if you say to the customer "we know this isn't what it should be, so please use it for free until we fix it." If you haven't fixed it yet, you can't start charging for it yet. Sorry that you feel you have to whiteknight everything on this forums. Sorry that this game is still broken. Sorry that you think you are smarter than everybody when you probably work at a general goods store.

Only if said losses will contribute towards the potential profits.

Working on 2.0 surely fits that scenario. Keeping the current service live? Lol, no. The current service is pure loss that doesn't contribute to anything.

Your Consumer logic seems to be telling you that as long as someday you might make profit it doesn't matter whether the funds are used for helping homeless squirrels or funding actions that contribute to making the product profitable.

The official statement is, by the way, "the service will be free until we can provide a concrete plan for the game's future". Making up crap sure doesn't help your case here, although it is in line with the rest of your points.

Yes, and ALSO when he said he (Yoshi) felt that the game was good enough to start charging. Most believed it would be 2.0 because that is when he said the game would be "worthy of playing". So excuse me if I disagree with you on your "official statement" that isn't linked to anything. Please, continue whiteknighting a decision forced on this game by CEO's/major stockholders.

Too bad you are wrong. SE still makes billions of dollars. Do you think this game is hurting them that much? Why are they releasing game after game after game? Because they can support this game with their other profits. Their stockholders/CEOs are telling them "start charging for this game too; I want more money." Obviously if they thought they couldn't take a loss, why would you EVER start an MMO which has the highest loss to win ratio in the gaming industry. Obviously you and the other whiteknights don't even play the game. How long have you been sitting on low rank now? Your last achievement was on 4/16/2011 in FFXIV. Please at least play the game if you are going to be this ridiculous.
