As a new player, running through the Praetorium dungeon was the worst

should you know, look at oit from their pov. That is a bit of a prob with the NA DC, they can't look past their own nose. How many threads will be made till you and ppl like you kinda get it?

LOL... just use healer as your main job. You will be allowed much more CS time in dungeons, because, well, they cant do the boss without you ... in most cases anyway.

i hear you. As a healer i had just unlocked Kugane Castle last week. The last boss was awesome. However, as I was watching the cutscene I saw the "this room will be sealed in 15 minutes."

I think it is inconsiderate for new dungeon folks as well

Personally, I would have let them crash and burn while I watched my CS; which I hope you did. If you're watching a CS (takes less than 2 min), as a new player in the newer dungeons, and the tank and dps go blazing in they deserve to eat it and die.

Sure one could watch cs at an inn later on, but it does not feel the same

Happened to me also, i think it was Kugane Castle, told the group at the beginning i was new, last boss got that same message and by the time i got there room was sealed..
I told them at the end thanks for locking me out, and people left. I did get comms so my guess was the tank obviously had not cared all too much

I hope you stayed in CS, it's the tanks responsibility to ensure everyone is ready before pulling.

As has been mentioned SE dun bad, they KNOW they dun bad, and they have promised never to dun bad again. So far, they've lived up to it - there are no lengthy cutscenes mid-dungeon for any instance after 2.0. They've also made it clear that they have no intention of going back and trying to "fix" the old dungeons. They are as they are and as they will be. Thankfully, with the level cap now at 70, it's not difficult for very small undersized parties to run these dungeons. New players who are in FCs with high-level friends may be able to convince them to run them at a more relaxed pace, so they have an opportunity to watch the cutscenes.

Note that I have been playing the game since ARR launch, and due to the proliferation of max level players coming over from version 1.0, even when I made it to CM and the Praetorium folks were ALREADY speed running, and watching cutscenes was simply not an option if you wanted to participate in the boss fights (which, back then, were slightly more exciting than they are now). I wound up having to watch the cutscenes in the inn, like nearly every player in the game has. This is a problem that's been a part of the game since it first came out.

An undersized party of 2 (one tank/dps, and one healer) could probably clear the Praetorium. The only reason you can't solo it is because Nero treats you like a hockey puck, and likely if you could get past Nero you would have to chase Gaius around too. You can absolutely solo Castrum Meridianum (I've done it at level 60 in i180 gear.) It just takes a very long time.



Come to think of it, if you want to experience Castrum the way it was meant to, tick "undersized party", turn cutscenes back on, go solo. I'm pretty sure it will take about an hour.

I was able to solo Praetorium in 3.x as Dark Knight. I think I was in 230-240 gear at the time.

As for the OP's issue; I believe it is wrong to kick someone out for watching the the cutscenes. I feel that should be considered griefing and reportable. However, at the same time, I don't believe that people shohld have to wait for first timers to watch the cutscenes.

To me the poetics bonus isn't worth the additional amount of time it takes to watch cutscenes. I won't force them to skip ot, but I am not going to wait for them either. If they want to kick me for not waiting, that's fine. In fact, if a group waits, I would rather them kick me so I can start a new queue. I queue as a tank so it is pretty much instant for me.

honestly they should remove the skipping cutscene option from some of the older dungeons to let people watch it and not be rude about it =3
