I saw the NoClip documentary on FF14's journey and it was amazing, especially all the humility about 1.0.

I also read the GamerEscape interview in which it was answered that "Starting with 4.0 it feels that we’re finally independent from 1.0. "

Do you think those 2 ideas contrast and what will you do to keep the memory of 1.0, and what Square Enix learned from it, alive?

Have you ever considered turning the best version of 1.0 (namely 1.23b) into an actual experience?

I think it'd be a real treat if there was a seasonal server in which we play a temporary character (a "memory" of long ago) in 1.23b, and once the server "dies" after an allotted period of time (6 months?), and based on what achievements are gained during that seasonal period, rewards can then be claimed for our "real" characters. Adjustments to exp might be needed to make it doable during the allotted time, and the rewards could change when the next "season" comes back.
