I'm still in the midst of trouble-shooting this but I wanted to check if anyone was aware of this issue or if this is just me and some corrupt files.
Starting completely randomly yesterday, mid-day, not after a patch of any sort, I started getting error messages only while roaming around Yanxia (primarily southwest of Namai) that I could initially just drag off onto my other monitor and ignore for a bit, but they started interfering with models, animations, effects, etc. until ultimately rendering the game unplayable and eventually crashing the client. Logging back in has been a crapshoot, often simply re-crashing upon loading Yanxia.
The only temporary fix seems to be switching between DX9 and DX11, but that only allows me to maybe get back on and quickly teleport out of the zone before it crashes again... but the errors will still persist when I go back there on either version of DirectX once I move about the zone for a bit. Unfortunately, his has completely halted my ability to continue with the MSQs.
Here's an example of what the error looks like:
An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.
ntdll.dll+2E064
kernel32.dll+114AD
ffxiv.exe+C5AC32
ffxiv.exe+C3D264
ffxiv.exe+5AB8B
ffxiv.exe+59802
ffxiv.exe+58054
ffxiv.exe+1402C7
It's not always these specific files and sometimes I get a whole bunch of error dialogs, each with different files listed. Hitting "OK" will kill the program immediately, but trying to continue to play will deteriorate into a full crash within moments.
I am currently reinstalling it my client from scratch, but I wouldn't know where to begin if this persists. It just seems so odd that this would begin suddenly and without a patch altering files. I've gathered and otherwise explored the immediate area for a long time this past week but never encountered any issues here or anywhere else since installing the game in 1.0 beta, to be honest.
