    Shame

    (Original:

    I can't believe what i see.
I was looking if there is a notice telling if Yoshi-P and the other people of SE are OK, and what I found? People talking about add new NM's, new classes and worst of all, about add earthquakes...

Japan it's living a real hell and there are people thinking about a game?
I'm shamed of how selfish are the human race. I hope this nightmare will end without a nuclear devastation and the Japan citizens can take their lifes back.

Desde España estamos con vosotros. Animo Japón)

I was wrong to express my opinion like this. This is a forum game and it's normal to ask for new things about the game. But for those who said to add an in-game earthquake, I hope anyone of you or other people will live an experience like that in real life.

    Thanks and sorry

Nuclear devastation? The Earthquake and Tsunami did the damage... the worst thing that will come from the damaged nuclear plants is economic.

    Nuclear reactor =/= nuclear bomb.

While we all share our prayers for Japan, especially for those who've lost someone they love, life still goes on for many people... and thats just reality, even for the japanese.

Those threads have come and gone.

If you look back to friday you will see a ton of them.

But its not going to be a broken record, we're still going to talk and carry on. Aside from making donations (which there were links to the red cross and such in these threads) there isn't much we can do.

Do you really want to see a forum of "oh god, i'm hope everyone is okay" over and over?

The radiation leak from nuclear reactor, and it said to reach Tokyo soon. Now, more people in Tokyo are trying to take flight to Osaka which is safer place.

No worry, Yoshi-P is alright, he says he is safe. But situation in JP is really bad, so they will be very busy with RL, and not the game.

I dont want to be rude, but it seems to me you didn't look enough.

There were about 100 posts about japan, and everyone giving their sentiments to them. And there was one asking for Yoshi-p and the team, and they replied saying they are alright SO I think we do not need another one of these XD

    living hell?

No, their number of dead and destruction is probably the lowest all similar disaster.

Can you imagine what was it like in india 2004 with a 30 M tsunami? or the earth quakes in china that killed over 3 millions people?

i respect their country for being so capable and preventive. (if you didn't know, they even have tsunami protection for 6M, but as long it beyond it doesn't work) Althrough, i have no idea why it is 6 M and not 10 M. That extra 4 M cheapskate is also a cost.

But they still have to live through it, we can't all just stand in one place and pray for them while starving ourself. Gaming is a luxuy, we can afford luxuy because we can afford it. If they don't provide this luxuy to us, we will just take our option to others. In the very end, those who doesn't work will not get food.

If SE just stand there praying for their brothers then they simply will starve tomorrow when their customer leave them. Beside not like SE can go swim in to save people.

everyone have their own job they can do and can't do. It is SE's job to listen to us , improve their games, and feed japan for the tomorrow.

Irresponsible people like you will just pray every day like monks and thinking you can get a piece of the pie of our tomorrow.

I've been through disasters like this -- It's not just economical destruction, it's environmental and humane as well (people can get very ill from radiation leaks.)

Life does go on, but one can't simply downplay the severity of this situation -- if nuclear reactors meltdown it won't merely just mess up monetary flow...

Regardless of whats going on in japan, it is still possible for people to discuss the game....

we dont have to drop everything and ignore what these forums ewre built for, in order to discuss something that is quite frankly, completely unrelated to ffxiv.

not every thread has to be about the earthquake/tsunami

Did I say "nuclear bomb"? Nope, I said "nuclear devastation" and with that I'm talking about the devastation that will cause if the nuclear plant explodes. All that zone will be The worst thing it's just economic? Yeah and for that are wearing masks in Tokyo and can't go outside when it's raining, in case of an economic trouble.

Life goes on for all, I know Roaran but I'm just writing about what people say in their posts. The earthquake it wasn't four years ago, it was four days ago and this isn't the time for questions about a game when they are expecting to live a possible Chernobyl.

For last, sorry if I say something without sense, I don't speak English very well but I'm trying. Thank you

Most people here have either offered their condolences, donated, or are out there helping out with the situation, and as other people have already pointed out, there was a literal outpouring of support over the weekend.

But life goes on. Do you expect the world to stop turning every single time a catastrophe such as this happens? We'd never make any progress at all being that while not necessarily at this scale, events like this happen all the time. It's nature, it happens, and there's nothing we can do about it other than hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

I don't think people here are downplaying anything, but what do you expect us to do in the meantime? Regardless of the situation in Japan, Square-Enix, along with other companies there are corporate entities and once they can shift their focus from the immediate crisis in however long it takes(which most people here are totally understanding of), they're going to go back to work, and they're going to look at what companies look at: The Numbers.

The best that those that aren't there right now and haven't donated CAN do is try to act with as much normalcy as possible, which is what we're doing.
