Yeah and I was wrong to express my opinion in a way like that, sorry. I didn't changed the original post so everyone can see it, and I added another text with my apologies.Maybe you should've just responded to that one particular thread instead of being "ashamed" of us all. We can all still hope that Japan recovers from these disasters and talk about new content we would like to see added to the game in this gaming forum. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

You just don't realize the fact people die everywhere in this world. Every sec we speak a family lose one of their member and any survivor would consider be in living hell according to your standard.Irresponsible? pray? Please, you don't know me so don't talk about my life. I didnt' mentioned I will pray for them because that don't fix anything in this life. It is called "social conscience". It doesn't means we all have to forget our lives but it means there are thing you can do/say but there are thing you can't.
There are a lot of disasters in the world and will be more of then in the future years, that's the reality. We all have our life it's true, but do you think it's normal to ask for an EARTHQUAKE in the game?? I don't think so. Video-games are a luxuy like you said and if you see you are paying for nothing, don't pay this game.
Living hell??
Tell me what your definition of hell, but I think when a wave destroy your town, kill some of your friends and folks, maybe it's not hell but it's close ot it.
I don't say we all have to write about the situation of Japan but please, don't ask for petitions like an earthquake in the game. Maybe I'm wrong but it's just my opinion and if I am a irrespoonsible for asking people not to write post like that, yeah I am.
But do these survivors have time to stand there and tell everyone around them to "drop whatever" you doing and look at us? Grief for us? No, even if they actually do it, no one will. Other people have to survive too.
I think you are irresponsible for asking people not to post "these demands" that this forum is built to do.
It is like asking any cars NOT to cross that bridge to return home or a pizza man not delivery that pizza over to the other side just because there is an accident on a bridge.
people asking earthquake or not, it is their own business. So i shouldn't ask for a Bomb in game just because japan lost 2 cities and MORE people to the tsunami + earthquakes from world war 2?
Maybe they shouldn't even make a war game for you people, consider they lost the war and lost many lives in war.
Earthquake is like eating rice for Japan, they got large sum of cash into preventing it, they were prepared to face the disaster in order to live in japan. Putting whatever in-game won't affect how they live either way.
Beside this earthquake killed so little compare the other one, they should be glad already.

Learn to READ, because there is 3 tsunami in japan before with similar # of deads and 2 earthquake that is about 5 time more death of this run.
like i said, they only built a 6m block knowing tsunami is JAPAN's greatest fear is part of their government's fault, just like China's fault that every year a flood occur and cost china's tons of money.

Regardless of whats going on in japan, it is still possible for people to discuss the game....
we dont have to drop everything and ignore what these forums ewre built for, in order to discuss something that is quite frankly, completely unrelated to ffxiv.
not every thread has to be about the earthquake/tsunami

Most people here have either offered their condolences, donated, or are out there helping out with the situation, and as other people have already pointed out, there was a literal outpouring of support over the weekend.
But life goes on. Do you expect the world to stop turning every single time a catastrophe such as this happens? We'd never make any progress at all being that while not necessarily at this scale, events like this happen all the time. It's nature, it happens, and there's nothing we can do about it other than hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
I don't think people here are downplaying anything, but what do you expect us to do in the meantime? Regardless of the situation in Japan, Square-Enix, along with other companies there are corporate entities and once they can shift their focus from the immediate crisis in however long it takes(which most people here are totally understanding of), they're going to go back to work, and they're going to look at what companies look at: The Numbers.
The best that those that aren't there right now and haven't donated CAN do is try to act with as much normalcy as possible, which is what we're doing.
It is a game forum, so talking about the game is normal under any circumstance.
Some people definitely need to practice more restraint in the comments they've been making about the disaster in Japan. But there's nothing wrong with continuing on with debates about FFXIV.
Just don't expect the servers to come back up for a while.. or for new content any time too soon.

If you want some real information about the reactors, don't listen to the news. This is an article from MIT's Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering which will give accurate information about the reactors, not the garbage you see on the news.
Also, this is a game forum where we discuss ways to improve a game, not really a place to discuss what's happening in Japan. There are numerous other sites that discuss it already. We all want the SE staff to be safe, of course, but this is a game forum.
Sorry but all this "life goes on" crap is wicked rude. What if things turn for the worst and both games are shut down permentally. Yes life goes on, but many of our fellow gamers just had their lives cut short. Many of the teams that brings us ganes had nembers of their families or friends had their lives cut short.
Sorry but debating this situation or making crude suggestions, or doing pointless debating should be keot down. Some of us lost japanese friends we played with.
Talk about the game just please be mindful of the situation. I'm pretty sure that if we had a second 9/11 we would still be talking about it. And not make suggestions on having events in game like that.
I'm not saying every topic should be like this. But limit the "life goes on" or trolling on said threads. Which has been going on. If you don't wanna see morning don't click it.

Jennestia, Grit and Raxxon, you are all right guys. I got to change the part "People talking about add new NM's, new classes and worst of all" because that's normal. In my opinion will be better if they ask for those things in a couple of days, but what really gets me mad it's all the thing about "an earthquake in the game". That's not funny. Because you are right, I'll change that text but I'll keep the text about the other thing.
Sorry if anyone get offended for my post but that is my view point.

Talking about adding earthquakes is just incredibly insensitive but adding new NMs and improving on other systems I don't see as insensitive. The Japanese aren't panicking as much as the rest of the world and the media is just blowing everything out of proportion with inaccurate information. Instead, they're trying to stay calm and fix what has happened and I think the rest of the world should calm down a bit as well.Jennestia, Grit and Raxxon, you are all right guys. Having normal game conversations is probably because we realize there isn't much else we can do right now. Going over there to help might not be a good idea since a lot of us don't know enough Japanese and would just be in the way and the people who could help would just be babysitting the foreigner. We could donate to charities but other than that, there isn't a whole lot to do about the situation.
