Mooch 2 issue-Fishing

I am telling you that the basic mooch is not lighting for me most of the time when the mooch 2 is on timer. I get an HQ double at every cast. Do I need to remove some gear? I have over 280 IL.

Your 'overkill' item level doesn't affect it at that point. What Espritduo and miyakai said already; if the fish you fish up is moochable, but NQ, only Mooch II will activate. (Which I mentioned will always light up with a moochable fish). If the fish is not moochable, yet it's HQ, mooch won't be available at all. At the Tangle there's only 3 fish you can mooch with; Ala Mhigan Fighting fish, Silverfish and Assassin Betta, rest can't be mooched even if they're HQ.


example 1 you fish up:
You get Ala Mhigan Fighting fish NQ = no Mooch, but Mooch II activates
You use Mooch II so it'll start the 3 minute cooldown on that ability
You get Assassin Betta NQ = no Mooch, but Mooch II activates (yet you can't use it because of cooldown)
end of your mooch chain

example 2:
You fish up Ala Mhigan Fighting fish HQ = Mooch activates
You use Mooch
You fish up Assassin Betta NQ = no Mooch, but Mooch II activates
You use Mooch II (3 minute cooldown activates)
You fish up Assassin Betta HQ = Mooch is available.
You use Mooch
You fish up Assassin Betta NQ = No mooch, and Mooch II is still on cooldown
