Dear Square Enix,
Why does it seem that the servers you use to operate your game FF14 are some of the worse servers to ever grace the market? During Stormblood launch, they could not handle load. During prior launches they could not handle load. Now, since last night, your servers are taking dumps during instances.

Do you not care to invest in the back end that supports this game? Do we all of your paying customers need to start a Go Fund Me page to help you buy better servers?

IMO, I would rather you stop making content that you cannot support until you can buy better servers that can support the content and game you have here. It is nigh fun to continue to fight against something that we as players cannot control. Please invest in some better back end systems or better optimize what you have.

Also, it seems whenever you have these troubles, you always blame it on DDoS attacks? Mere coincidence or just complete bull???

It may not even be the servers themselves getting DDoS'd this time. The people in my FC who got booted are east coast/central. I'm in the northwest, and havent had connection issues yet.

Also, blaming the servers doesn't help your cause. even google and amazon can suffer from DDoS attacks. And they have much more money thrown into their servers. Considering the servers have been mostly stable other than during the periods of attack, I'd say they are just fine. The weekend had no issues, and that would have been "the prime time holiday hours"

I got 90k'd so hard absolutely no info would load on the character screen for me. Not even my name or world, I can't log in. I'm meh about it a medical issue was starting to bother me and I needed to lay down anyways. But I really hope that's not happening to other people who are trying to raid.

I was just in a Castrum Meridianum run and Every player except myself and the other tank dc'd, we waited nearly 10 minutes for everyone to come back.


The other tank was stuck in a cutscene, so the other players who were dc'ing auto-attack triggered the pull. So I was the only one who could do anything for a few minutes.



The person who needed the run the most was the last to reconnect, hence why we waited.

The other possibility is simply there are that many people trying to play the game and they say it's DDOS because they can't be bothered to invest in higher quality equipment.

If it is getting hacked, they can't be bothered to hire security either.

I'd like to think I was lucky for passing the Omega solo instance and getting part of the raid done. A friend of mine wasn't so lucky and is still struggling with 90k dc's.

We thought it was just related to the instance itself, but when we started doing regular DF stuff we *both* got hit hard with multiple dc's over the course of a normal dungeon, most of them *before we even got to the first boss*. We could even tell who was going to be disconnnected next because as soon as one logged in the other went poof.

Upsetting to say the least, was actually looking forward to running the new stuff with friends but the game is hardly playable right now.

That said, I'm not going to blame SE. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, and people who do blame SE just need a scapegoat for their salt.

There isn't an amount of money you can spend to guarantee you'll never be the victim of a cyberattack of some sort, whether it's hacking or DDoSing or whatever.
