hard lock crashes randomly after patch

Not much to provide in way of info, but the game has hard locked and crashed on me nearly a dozen times this morning since patching. Since resubscribing prior to Stormblood's launch, I have experienced zero crashes of this type playing the entire way 60-70 and messing around on lower level characters.

Got the same issue as well. Game just randomly hard locks with no crash to desktop error. Audio of the game keeps playing but the image is hard locked. Can't do anything unless I restart my PC. I tried older Nvidia drivers and this keeps happening.
There is no crash error to report or any other prompt windows. The game just freezes there with audio keep playing.
Windows 10 Pro x64 i5 2500K Nvidia GTX970 G1 Gaming 8 GB RAM.
It's very annoying and happens to me only the last 2 days.

This stopped yesterday, and occurred zero times during an evening's play session. However, it has started again this morning. I've crashed ~5 times in an hour.

Consistent with the last batch of crashes, none have yielded an error. Save for one. The following error message presented itself during one crash (out of roughly 2 dozen):

i've been getting these errors too. black screen, audio looping, eventually turning into a broken "glitch noise" have to restart to do anything on the pc. other times it just killed the game with a fatal directX error

Usually if the audio keeps going that means the video card had an unexpected error and was unable to recover. Does control alt delete make the music stop cause that means the computer is still processing input and confirms the video card error. I've had this happen to me in other games. Best you can do is fool with settings until a new driver is released and hope for the best for now.

You all should post your video card and driver version.
