As an older adult with health challenges I love the fact that there are less complex jobs in the game. Give me my red mage, white mage, and paladin. You can play with the more complex jobs all you want.

I hope RDM stays exactly the way it is. We need LESS complexity amongst the DPS classes IMO. RDM is the first DPS class I actually enjoy playing that isnt trying to twist my fingers in knots with all the gymnastics or looking at everything except what i'm fighting trying to keep track of this buff, or that timer. Leave my RDM alone. I like it just the way it is. If you want complex dps there's plenty of other options.

How would attaching and AoE and a DoT make them more '' complex?
It would only make them even more stronger and braindead... You're asking for a buff, not complexity.

He isn't asking for more complexity tho. He is asking for buffs under the guise of '' complexity ''.
Adding an AoE effect and a DoT wouldn't add any complexity at all, quite the opposite. If anything it would REMOVE complexity and make the job even easier than it already is.

And this '' Acceleration. An entire ability that takes a proc from 50% to 100% seems like a waste. Compared to Sharpcast which can take a proc chance from 3% to 100%.

Add to Acceleration the benefit of allowing Verholy or Verflare to be used without first needing to perform the melee combo. Similar to True North in that it removes prerequisites from ability use, and adds a decision point to the ability. This would allow RDM to use their capstone ability in more situations. ''

    How is this more complexity?
It's just a flat buff that doesn't actually add any complexity whatsoever.
What RDM needs right now is most certainly NOT buffs.

Personally I wish RDM did have a bit more depth to it, I find it odd that Fletche and Contre Sixte have no interaction with the job's core mechanics for instance, but clearly lots of people love RDM the way it is. SAM has checked all the dps boxes for me so we do have options with the new kids on the block.

Well, maybe "complexity" was the wrong word, but I love the reactions.

I like RDM a lot too, I just feel like adding some decision points would spice it up - oh, and all without adding potency, as I noted in the initial post. "Under the guise," lol, yeah man, lowkey asking for buffs, you got me.

The different additions to the spells would allow you to choose which one best suits a given situation. Guess I didn't type it out that clearly, my bad. But I am sure there are better ways to accomplish that than what I posted.

I'll stand by Acceleration being slight garbage. Adding to it would, at times, allow you to decide to use it to proc the "Ready" abilities as it does now to improve your mana balance, OR use it to allow for a quick ranged spike of DPS in situations where the melee combo isn't feasible. Super complex? Nope. Just an added decision.

I really don't want any more "decision points". I like the simplicity for a change. Just leave RDM as it is. It doesn't need to be changed.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

Tbh I like it that RDM is a rather simple job. Not coz I don't like a challenge but just because it flows so well together and it seems quite versatile.

Don't touch our RDM it's perfect as is. When the level cap increases they can probably give us more complexity by giving us a AOE physical combo, and more abilities that influence our gauge so we can enter melee mode faster.

What you fail to realize is that we do have our own complexity.
1.) We enter melee mode and jump out of it around every 25-40 secs.
2.) We have to be prepared to provide additional support for with vercure, raise, embolden.
3.) We have to keep our eyes on procs and be able to adjust rapidly.
