The only thing I found disappointing was the fact that when Exdeath ran out of HP, the duty was complete. Something definitely felt missing there.

This was my reaction. I was watching his hp dropping near the end and going "Laws of the Universe mean nothing? Is something going to happen? Neo Exdeath?"

I think this is an FF5 themed raid series. Syldra Mount, Chicken knife weapon, Omega, Rifts, Ex-Death etc.... I think each sphere will be strictly FF5 themed bosses.
Next tier:
1.0 Phobos/Triton/Nereid
2.0 Wendigo
3.0: Necrophobe
4.0: Azulmagia
Last Tier
1.0 Gilgamesh
2.0 Neo Exdeath
3.0 Enuo
4.0 Omega Prime

A remastered version of Neo-Exdeath's theme is already in the files, unused, and Yoshida said previously that we could expect a Brutal Justice moment in O4. It's extremely likely that he'll show up in a savage-only phase.
Additionally, Omega told us very early on that combatants were grouped according to dimension, suggesting that FFV bosses were exclusive to Deltascape. O5-O11 will, presumably, be characters from 4 or 6-10. 3 was mostly stripmined for Crystal Tower, and we already know that the 24-man will be Return to Ivalice. 6 I'm unsure about because of how much of it was used for Stormblood's MSQ, but considering they threw in Exdeath, this seems like as good a time as any for Kefka.

Omega comes from FFV, yet the music playing while in the Deltascape field sounds like it came from FFX.A remastered version of Neo-Exdeath's theme is already in the files, unused, and Yoshida said previously that we could expect a Brutal Justice moment in O4. Keep in mind that Gilgamesh, also came from FFV, and has been in every FF game since. So "those from another dimension" would likely not be exclusive to Final Fantasy per se

Deltascape appears to be a "computer simulation" version of exactly that. Take note that the running theme in the first 4 had a castle in various forms, with the final one having it as debris. The Rift is a bizarre mishmash of dimensions, where the rules of space and time do not necessarily apply the same way as they do in the normal world. Several of the locations in the Rift are similar (and may be) places consumed through Exdeath's use of the Void.
If I were hazard a guess these are going to be 3 major bosses from another FF game and the games final villain. It just likely will not be FF3 or FF6 as we've already seen all the interesting lore from those games used.
If you pay attention two pieces of the HW lore you'll also note
"13 mirror worlds" created with Zodiark's defeat. Zodiark is basically "darkness" or "chaos", while Hydaelyn is "light"
How many games came before FFXIV? 13 (not including the -2's.)
As Nero said, these entities are manifestations of what he would believe to be fairy tales. So each of these mirror worlds are implied to be the worlds of the other games. But you have to go back to FFV for a second and also realize that the key turning point in FFV was the merging of two worlds that were pulled apart by the crystals to seal the void.
Think about that for a moment.
The entities that appear in these Deltascape raids are that of "epic battles" from other worlds beyond the void (that Omega may have seen.) The most likely candidates are from games we haven't seen any references to at all yet, like FFX and FFIX. Omega, like Gilgamesh, travels through the Void seeking stronger warriors (Gilgamesh just likes swords), while Shinryu seeks Omega. We defeated Shinryu so Omega ultimately has no end-game.
It's very likely we do not defeat Omega, we simply seal it away like in other games. The most lore-appropriate choices would be from other games where Omega/Ultima weapon appear to fill in some of the lore gaps for players who haven't played those games.

I didn't have much expectation for this raid or the story going into it but I had hoped it wouldn't repeat the same mistake of Alexander and leave all the interesting story until the last tier. Unfortunately that seems to again be the case. We are going into this zone to learn more about Omega I guess? Following some crazy chocobo lol. I mean sure we need to learn more about it but the story didn't leave me with any interest at all after completing it. Omega is like "lol I can blow you up mortals" like some Dragonball Z character haha. It's just not very interesting. I hope they do much better with tier 2 but since it is following same bland introduction as with Alexander my hopes are pretty destroyed at this point.
As far as the fights are concerned, they aren't very interesting. V2.0 and V3.0 have unique stuff and are pretty fun! I liked them, but V1.0 is really boring and the boss doesn't do anything or have any unique mechanics. V4.0 mentions void but ??? nothing happened ??? maybe all my groups were OP ? lol but there was no reason to even have mentioned it. That fight just felt like I was playing the 5 headed dragon in world of darkness.

I'm thinking VIII and X for the next parts if they move away from V. Omega was in those two games. Ultimecias Castle fits the theme too. Maybe Inside Sin for X.

Omega and Omega Weapon are two different beings in Final Fantasy.
Omega has always been a robot where as Omega Weapon in VIII and X are two different organic beings, the latter being someone who turned into the creature.
I really wish people stop comparing every raid to Coil.
Coil was special. Bahamut ended 1.0 and was a raid boss in 2.0
4.0 normal raid was not boring, it was fun!
"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018

I liked Omega. I found the fights fun and entertaining. If you want a challenge, just wait for the savage mode to come out. For people like me who have a fear of raiding, Omega is a nice place to get your feet wet.
