    Constant and repetitive error 90002 disconnect

    Happy 4th of July my NA people. I have been disconnected over 10 times in the last 25 minutes and the server just doesn't give me error 90002, it waits a very, very long time before it finally kicks me out. Is something going on?

    Character name: Alex Greaver
    Server: Brynhildir
    Time: since 7:20AM EST
    Error: 90002 constantly
    Platform: PS4

    It has gotten so bad that it now disconnects me mere seconds after logging back in. I cannot reset my PS4 because that would risk me getting the 22.7gig download that SE and Sony are forestalling in fixing.

    Please tell me its not me. Please?

    Important edit: Disconnects all happened in a dungeon and once I got out, no more disconnects. Instance servers acting up again or are they under attack again?

    It's not only you, I get disconnected after a minute each time I log in. And it seems it concerns a lot of people. Maybe the DDoS attacks?

    I get 90002 all the time as well on PC.
    Funny thing is that my PS4 runs no problem.

    Small update. I logged out and did some stuff for a few hours and came back. I tried doing trial roulette and still I get errors. Every single piece of content that is not an instance is fine, duty finder is unplayable to me. What on earth did you guys do in patch 4.01, its even less playable!

    I highly, HIGHLY urge the FF XIV dev. team to bother, pester and otherwise convince Square Enix upper management to give us better/more/upgrade the instance servers because it has been failure after failure with it this expansion.

    It's EU players specifically that seem to be affected by this, so must be something they did that managed to bork it for specifically out side

    People are saying it started after a big DDoS attack overnight/early morning and Square rushed out anti-DDoS countermeasures.

    My bet is that they implemented overzealous countermeasures which is treating incoming connections from the EU players as potential attackers. If that is true, and they still haven't resolved it despite so many reports then it's a pretty poor display of network administration.

    This is happening to a lot of people, something to note though...
    First off I live and play from England (PS4) and reside in Aether - Siren server. After the patch I was fine for about an hour until I started the Omega questline, after starting it I started having this issue. Now, playing on an alt or making a new char on any NA server was fine, not a single issue and playing as normal. So I asked a friend (residing in Australia) who was playing on their alt to go on their main and start the Omega questline, soon after starting it she also starting getting loss of actions and being disconnected.
    Can't say what this issue is, but there's something here for sure.

    Do you reside in NA or Canada though? As it seems to be people on NA servers who do not reside in those regions.
