    Ideas for adjustments for maps

    We all know how huge the areas are in this game, but they are pretty bland and undifferent. So here are some ideas to bring more life to the maps, and introduce new areas into the regions. I like the idea of making one huge zone, but you got to remember that there are certain things to account for. such as

    -Music
    -Landscape
    -Monsters
    -Mini cities
    -New dungeons

    So I will list one idea so you guys get a idea of what im proposing.

    Thanalan

    Changes
    -Music
    *Offer different remixs to the different types of sections
    -For example central thanalan would keep the original version while other parts of the zones would have a slower version, or a remix like a tropical version for being near the port.

    *For small cities offer a new song similar for all of them in the same region similar to how all the city-states shared the Christmas song.

    *Give dungeons that don't have music some music it really gives the zone life.

    Landscape
    -Add different textures, such as trees that are different in different parts of the zone's, for instance in western thanalan add more oasis, and make the ground lighter.

    Monsters
    Add bigger stronger monsters, and different color version monster in the more dangerous areas of the maps.

    Mini cities
    Add more quests, npcs, add inns in places where players can gather.

    Dungeon
    Underground Railroad
    -Long ago Ul'dah had a secret railroad which they used to transport materials to all the minor cities for support, and for easier transportation for adventures, and crafters. but a year ago it was overtaken by Amalj'aa

    Especially -- this! it just adds so much immersion. I noticed there's a couple little towns, but they're so out of the way it's not even funny. Not to mention they're ghost towns. If they were located on major walking paths, that'd be a huge improvement.

    How about make it where you need to quest/buy the maps.

    Its no fun exploring if you can see where you want to go :P

    The one thing that stands out to me in a bad way about the maps(besides copypasta) is that there just plain snake trails, there is little to no open space in anything, it bothers the living crap out of me.

    I agree with the part of buying maps, I would also like them to make them possible to unlock secret parts of the maps.

    Please in the future allow us to buy and quest maps for future expansions/regions. I love my map quests and would like to be able to aquire my maps with tasks instead of just having it handed to me.

    I would rather not see buyable maps, but maps that fill in as you discover the world, it would add a much needed sense of discovery and exploration.

    All I think they need to do at this point is

    1.) Completely remake The Black Shroud
    2.) Have more random structures in the maps (kind of like the windmills in Coerthas)
    3.) Make the camps bigger and not one of them look like any other camp

    Camps should be more like quest hubs and not 2 NPC a hut and crystal lol.

    They should also have quests and shops in the towns, hopefully they plan to add this, as I noticed that most of them have crafting guild signs above their doors.

    Walk through every tile(<pos>)=free map, don't want to explore that much=30k gil.
