This should of been done from day one. I guess they had to add "something" to SMN too or I could see many going beserk about the fact SMNs got nothing (in theory there was nothing)Small quality of life change for ppl that mess up stacks.. If savage not have multiple targets where you can abuse multidotting or some kind of aoe. I can already say summoner is gonna be bottom of dps with literally no utility. It is viable, but other classes just perform better..
I wouldn't say its "nothing" - at least now is guaranteed that you will get your burst spike dmg in every minute with dw ((150x5)+400)+10%(+10% if con used)=1265 pot (1530 if con used) and every 2nd minute with bt (at least 10x160+2x300(2xfester)+200(1xpainflare)+680=3080 pot (3388 pot if con used) - now this is calculated with real potency so even if you reduce it to 80% cause of pet-potency giving shockwave around 120 and ahk morn 540 pot its still 2540 pot in total while Bahamut is out. (Eirene f.e is able to throw out up to 12 shockwaves while Bahamut is out - so that would be even 330/240 pot more) – So this "meaningless" change will guarantee you at least 3800-4000 pot every 2 minutes... now+ the filler dps skills in between it might getting better without any downtime in your rota.
it won't be the big cls breakthrough but its a step in the right direction considering the effort the devs have to taken in the current situation... everything else aside this and pot buff - need way more resources and its doubtful if SE ever totally revamps an old cls.
After all im looking forward to our first Omega run on smn 2nite :3

SMN still have a way to get Improbement. Something about stack management on dying, pet responsivity or sustain, etc.
But what if every QoL problem is solved while the DPS remains unchanged. Would we still complain ?
We should always complain. SMN is so poorly designed that it will NEVER be fully fixed.
But I would argue that some QoL changes should boost our dps - like returning to old aetherflow ways, so we would not skip DWT etc.
But we will probably get nothing except small potency boost in 4.2

So.... Scholars got Miasma 2
100 Potency on hit. Another 100 potency over 12 seconds....
And Summoner can't have this why?
im glad that we don't got this back - after all that wouldn't make things easier for us at all. its melee range -> we would have to move more again bringen bahamut even more to the center of grp stack-spots. but I like that schs got it back though – last thing I personally would like to see is a real poteqcy increase/discription on the pet skills. 680 pot which is more likely a 544 player-pot for a jq 70 skill is a bit sad... ^^

I'd love Miasma 2. The lack of Blizzard 2 is pretty noticeable in an age where Bane is trash.
Of course, I'd also simply like for Bane to not be trash, buuut we're all aboard the Bahamut train now.
I think they should just make PvE SMN just like how it is on PvP where you only need one Dreadwyrm Aether cost to Summon Bahamut. I guess that would help a bit with the AoE and overall damage. Maximizing Wyrmwave is still a pain though.

I've said this once in the past, and it's especially true now: the developers have no goddamn clue what to do with Summoner.
They better have HUGE changes coming down the line if this is the only change we're getting right now.
I completely disagree with every one saying that the job is poorly design, or that the developers doesn't know what to do with it.
There is just QoL issue which should not be hard to fix (except maybe with the pet responsivity, since we did not have any improvement in years...), and maybe some spell to rework just a little bit to match something usefull (yes, devotion, i'm looking at you for some reason !). And maybe a few adjutment to get a little bit higher dps.
But now too much people is close to say that the entire job is trash just because
- Bahamut is too big
- Devotion is useless
- Bane sux (which is true but you don't need it on last Boss, Suzano or Lakshmi neither)
and the real complain is far away from this : Dps is not as high as the personal skill requirement.
I still want some some improvement, not rework.
Come one, nothing will change if they rework devotion, reduce the size of Bahamut or anything else. You'll still put dots, fill with ruine, cast 3 Fester/min and call Bahamut at some moments. Same job. Don't except any update to change that. Except making the job a little bit stronger and/or nicer, nothing else will change.
The fact is that if the developpers have not clue about what to do with the job, not a single player has a clue about he wants instead.
