    Drain (Caster Role Ability)

    Drain, a spell used to deal damage and absorb the full damage as HP, is unveiled to the game upon the launch of the newest expansion as a DPS Caster Role.

    Upon unveiling the new role skill, however, I noticed it absorbs a portion of HP (as I'm aware because a set % was not revealed) but the fact of the portion restored is too low (roughly 4% HP restored out of the damage points dealt).

    Hopefully this will undergo a change because it's one of the skills that fall under "Unused/Ineffective Actions"
    (just like the old skills before Stormblood hit).

    My Suggestions
    1. Since the initial potency for this Role Action is 80, and the fact that the portion of the DMG absorbed is only 4%, I would increase the HP absorption to 100%
    2. Increase the potency from 80 to 100-120 and absorb 50% of the damage as HP. If damage is critical, then 100% of the damage will be absorbed as HP.

    Let's discuss

    You could but theres always something intrinsically wrong with drains design. The best mitigation and recovery is almost always to torch the target asap.

    Drains hp return would have to be substantial to make it worth using.

    The percentage absorbed in my tests was basically 100%. However, you can only absorb as many HP as the enemy actually has left(whereas you can do more damage than it takes to kill). I could use Foul to do more then 10k damage to a level 3 ladybug, completely obliterating it. If i drained it instead, i might do 1500 damage to it, but would only absorb 30 or 40 since thats all it has. Though i will agree, a stronger version would probly be useful for some solo fights/duties.

    People need to stop testing this on level 1 dummies, you can't absorb more hp than the target has.

    So I tested this on a more appropriate target and it absorbed 100% of HP. You're right. it was designed to only Drain the contents of how many HP the enemy has in it. I guess I didn't think enough to try on a higher leveled target first, rather than making a swift assumption that it was only absorbing a very flat portion.

    Sorry about that and thanks y'all. I guess this can be case closed since problem was solved ;w;
