That's like getting executed for smoking marijuana.Actually you were if you got reported after bragging (same deal about Windower), as you're tampering with game data which is against ToS (of any company, some aren't strict on it but you CAN get banned for it.)
This is why updates and file checks on POL had a habit of replacing custom .dats because they can check the hash of your dats.
Injecting anything into a game not from the company can result in bans/prosecution (depending on what it's doing) but graphical tweaks and etc companies aren't strict about.
Ignoring the fact that's illegal in some places still as of today, I don't see what execution has to do with anything? Unless game companies have decided you can tamper with the data all you want in the past 10 years it's been a pretty big part of ToS's to not tamper with game data by injection method, especially MMORPGs -- Thus why some games have built in mod support.
I'd like to point out that the original BF3 thread appears to have been deleted.
Yep, was deleted when people on Rift forums mentioned it as well, however I suppose this is why the OP had this in it:
No reason to mention that if it wasn't against a ToS in some way -- It's not going to give you gameplay advantage or anything, injection methods are highly looked down upon.I don't care about the legality of this so please don't clutter the thread on whether you think it is right to use it or not
not working for me. am I supposed to turn something on?
This SMAA injection make in-game font look really bad... I think I'll stick with the old AA ; ;
Unfortunately it makes my game extremely prone to crashing. So much so that it will almost always immediately crash if I do almost anything at all.
