Which is not legal. Like most of visual hacks in game, they are just "DirectX modulation". As soon as you start injecting anything it's not legal anymore.Tested this and I must say I'm amazed how good it looks. Haven't tried the "ultra" setting yet, but will definately try it later on.
This method is also completely legal, since it's nothing but a DirectX modulation. It doesn't hoax with anything in the game except the AA. (The font might become a tad grainy, but still very readable)

Why wouldn't it be legal? It does nothing but changes the AA. For some, if not all, it's just a question of game performance. It's not like you get some kind of "OH HAI NAO U C MI, NAO U DOWNT!!".
Don't hold your breath.
According to this logic, forcing AA through the Nvidia and ATI control panels is also "illegal".
