    About damage calculation formula of tank roll ■
    Finally. Currently, it is difficult to maintain hostility, so there are people who use item level 270 STR accessories, so various discussions have been held and requests are received.

    In before the 4.05 "fix" is to lock tanks out of all STR accessories, while still not adding STR to tank accessories, because we'll have "increased enmity" to make up for it (please no). :/

    Its not even willful ignorance, its just short sighted design, I would say even bad design. They will touch up what, our emnity numbers to make it 'better?'. Save that dps and healers are going to scale off all 9 pieces of their equipment while we will be stuck with only 5 of ours, so instead of implementing a logical solution (letting us scale with all 9 pieces of our gear) they will touch up emnity numbers every few patches to try and keep us ahead of the curve of generated emnity while also having to spam threat combos.

    And people wonder why no one in FFXIV likes to play tanks? WoW has done loads wrong but this isn't one of them. Add strength to fending gear, simple fix. Doesnt need to be 1:1 with dps accessories either, most of us would be fine with 80%.

    Agreed. 80% is fine. It would likely be the easiest way to solve the problem, since all the new accessories are role locked.

    Honestly even 1:1 isnt bad. The only advantage health gives to a point is surviving a mistake, it does not help you hold aggro and proper cd usage is almost always enough to survive mechanics in FFXIV. SE has to not see Vit as being the same thing as Str.

    So they don't want Tanks' power to be scaled off of VIT because Tanks will start wearing VIT accesories and have too much HP?

    Nah they mean they can't balance tank power and hp levels easily. Instead of going 100 vit 100 str, they can go 50 vit 200 str and keep the damage and health reasonable at different levels.

    If they put str on the accessories it'd honestly make a better argument.

    I also agree with 1:1 being fine - just saying that I'd be OK with 80%. All your other points are correct.

    I'll toss in that I personally don't find it rewarding for more of my health bar to be left over after a tank buster. It's nice, but I'd rather see my damage numbers go up over the course of the expac instead.
