I can confirm, using a VPN works has a workaround for PC users... But having to pay 10 bucks to be able to play a game that I am paying already, is quite disappointing to say the least... But this, once again, this only add to the fire that the problem lies in SE side... and probably is their new "anti-DDoS system" at fault.

May I just say that this has been happening since the implementation of Omega AND taken the instances away.

I think it's got more to do with instances taken away tbh cause latency was pretty smooth up to Tuesday.

We are aware of the issue that some players outside of the NA region have had trouble staying connected to NA servers. We are currently investigating the cause of it.

I'm not sure if it's EU-specific, just the majority. My friend and I re-subbed, and we're encountering this too; we're both from the same province in Canada, and we're both playing on Aether : Cactaur. When we first started playing, we had zero issues connecting, but now we're lucky if we can stay logged in for 20 minutes. Talking to NPCs, combat, or mounting seem to be the worst triggers for it, before we get hit with the 90k.

I've tried the DNS fix, and it didn't really help, but a VPN seems to work a little better. Not perfect but I can usually at least finish a dungeon. I've done all the standard troubleshooting on my network; it's otherwise completely healthy, and FFXIV is the first (And currently only) game that has ever given me these kinds of problems.

I'm glad to hear the issue is being investigated, though!

A lot of people are blaming EU players for being on NA servers in the first place. The only thing I have to say to that is I pay money to play this game so I'll play on whatever server or region I choose. As a paying customer, I expect to be able to connect to said servers of my choosing and not suffer through these ridiculous inconveniences.

I'm not gonna lie once SB dropped my latency improved dramatically since the server move. It was like it something was tweaked and things were going fine (of course we had the problems with congestion) but apart from that latency was good hardly any dc's .

Then once omega kicked in the world instances were removed it's like we went backwards.

Will it be possible to investigate how having the instances improved people's connectivity and latency issues and how that can be re implemented to fix the actual problem that we having right now? (

Before 4.01 and the DDoS attacks that happened with it, I would never D/C for any reason other than AFKing. After said patch I can't enter PotD at all, and frontlines is a hit or miss, sometimes fine, others I d/c if I move even 1 step.

The worst part is the silence from SE's end.

Tell us whats up, fix it, or reimburse us for the wasted playtime. Sheesh!

Ok, so according to this i'll repost my exact issues:

I'm DCing instantly after doing the following things:

- Get on a mount
- Teleporting
- Open the achievements
- Going into a Dungeon etc.
- Sometimes while talking to NPCs
- Well, let's say, nearly everything else...

Things I can do:
- Walk around
- Crafting
- Talk to my retainers, send them on ventures and store items
- Use the Marketboard

Issues are not only on my Main-Chara. It's on all my Characters on Sargatanas. Tested 2 characters on EU Servers and everything worked fine.

I have to say I never had problems while playing on an NA Server (Sargatanas) as an EU Player (in Germany). Past DCing-Problems never concerned me much, luckily. All have started for me a few hours before servers went down for 4.01

Chiming in here also from UK to say this has only started happening since Tuesdays patch for me. Some people have claimed this is a direct result in SE 'taking measures' to stop DDOS attempts, and I'm not smart enough to know if that is true or not BUT if my connection to the game is actively being refused as a direct result of these 'measures' then that is really not good for me.

Getting on a mount, 90002, teleporting to a zone or traveling, 90002. If I get in an instance I can-- as of this patch-- guarantee disconnecting at least five times by the end, if my parties can even be patient enough to keep me in the instance in the first place. I not only have to contend with SE's disconnects but also party kicks as a result, meaning duties that would take sub-forty minutes, may take six or more hours of retying and waiting and hoping the next party is patient enough.

This is not a feasible use of time anymore.

I cannot justify paying for a VPN to return my gameplay to normal, and sure, some have free trials, but how long will these EU disconnects really last? To have a free trial end and the issue isn't fixed by then I'd just be right back were I started.

To add my experience so far:

Having been stuck in Quarry Mill for over a day unable to do anything, calling a Mount would not even result in an audible whistle, talking to anyone or attempting to teleport would result in a complete loss of control, unable to accept friend requests or anything for that matter before eventual 90k error would throw me out. I was eventually able to leave the area while connected to the game servers via a wireless hotspot on my phone.

As of now, I'm able to play fine for the most part, barring the occasional disconnect and 90k error when teleporting between areas in particular, but they can also happen randomly. I am able to do duties and quests no problem.

However, I have had to return to Quarry Mill due to MSQ progression once, and resulted in exactly the same symptoms as before.

I'm a UK player on Leviathan.
