    My gauge when I'm tanking nowadays is ignoring what the healer or the group says. The real gauge is on the DPS. If trash mobs are getting burned down faster than what I expect, then that's my cue to pull bigger. If they are average, then sorry guys you are all shit out of luck. We are going to take the scenic route.

    Exactly, what I do is do a small pull first. If it's cleared quick then I'll do massive pulls. If slow then it's small.
