I don't mind when they do big pulls in moderation, but some tanks seem to feel like they can take up on the world themselves and do massive pulls, it's pretty annoying both as a healer and as a melee DPS. As a healer it gets really stressful trying not to let the tank die, and if by some mistake one of the DPS gets hit by an AoE it gets worse. (I do admit that the challenge of keeping them alive is fun, but it gets old after a few pulls)

I like fast runs but sometimes they need to go a bit slower to let the healer keep up, I've seen tanks die a few times where they kept pulling mobs and run ahead of the healer while he tries his best to catch up with him trying to heal, it's kinda funny to see tbh.

Was in a run where the tank would run forward not waiting for healing, around corners, and when the healer asked them to slow down they retorted with something along the lines of "not everyone plays the same"...kind of wish the healer let them die.

I was in a Copperbell run where the tank pulled everything up to the first boss. Sadly, he died, then I did (as a DPS) and I got no XP whatsoever when he and his friends killed all the mobs.

So yes, I'm against that sort of pulling in levelling dungeons because you may end up screwing over people who are using those dungeons to, gee I don't know, levelling maybe.

If you sign up for a levelling roulette knowing you MAY get a low level dungeon and you don't want to run it at a slower pace (2-3 packs per pull), then form a pre-made and spare the rest of us the frustration of waiting 40 minutes in the queue only to be screwed out of XP because the tank was a... jerk.

I don't mind if the Tank is doing larger pulls (if you ask first) and can handle it. If he nearly dies nonstop and drains all my MP on every and each pull and it's a gamble of surviving or dying, I'd actually expect the Tank to slow down. This should also be normal if the groups pulled take forever to kill because the DPS can't keep up for some reason. Last time I asked the Tank to slow down, he and his DPS Friend kicked me without a warning. In front of the last boss. I'm always a friendly person and I really hate to ask you to slow down as it feels like I am doing a bad job as a healer. Please Tanks - You can't carry the weight of the world without the help of the Healers, and if we beg you to slow it down a little bit - may as well accept as we usually do not ask without reason.

I dunno, my friends and I did mass pulls in every dungeon while leveling and had no issues at all. Nothing hit harder than usual, tank held everything without issue, and things died quickly. My tank friend was also in STR right side sooo... I dunno what to tell you guys. :|

This can be simply what type of tank you had and how they play. I've leved almost two healer classes.. there can easily be a night and day difference between some dark knights. Some are easy to heal and some dark knights make me want to vomit with stress.

So you're saying it's a player skill issue. That's basically what it boils down to in all of these threads.

It's always a matter of player skill. I would not call any of the content we have currently in SB (as of 4.01) to be difficult. But the other people in the group often make it difficult, be it by not doing mechanics or not knowing how to play their job to a competent degree. Tanks who don't properly use cooldowns on trash mobs, for example, or AST who don't ever use cards, or my current irritation: BRDs who refuse to play songs for whatever reason. Those all reduce group efficiency and survivability.

If everyone was performing at even an adequate level by doing mostly proper rotations or using most of the tools available--not even maximizing DPS or anything--then we wouldn't have these threads. I know it makes me sound like an elitist, but I don't think asking people to become better players by reading tooltips and thinking for ten seconds before a pull is too much to ask.

I'm a PLD and I'll admit it took me longer than it should have to learn this lesson. I'd gotten so used to Expert Dungeons in Shire Gear that i expected to be able to pull large and oathdance like it's a disco party, but that shit doesn't fly at level.

However, my opinion has always been that if I've pulled large, and we die, *it is my fault*. I'm the one who brought more enemies than we could handle. I hold that healer is, and has always been, the hardest job, and it doesn't require a bad healer to wipe on a too-large trash pull or poorly handled mechanic. I've played as WHM, at 60, fully geared, and even overleveled, there's just a lot more to pay attention to.

So yeah, I've learned to pull small, but I expect that a lot of tanks are just coming into this content and have learned to pull large because it used to work for them.

I would love to introduce you to one of my healer friends who pulls more if he is bored and forces you to have to take them all from him or he will die(he only does it with friends though). Which comes back to knowing the people you run with, and knowing the type of crap they will pull.
