It's time they changed weekly tomes to include different jobs

Soon we are getting weekly tome gear, this means:

    1. We will only have something like 450 tomes per week to spend on gear.

    2. If you have multiple classes like a DPS/Tank you will only be able to gear one if you want to raid.

    3. This means you are limited what class you can bring because one will be under geared.

I would like to have 450 tomes a week for each job. I could gear tank AND dps and could take both raiding. This will be useful for raid groups and also more variety in not having to always be same class.

They have kept this formula for far too long, I think we should get something different. I did a similar post during HW but fell on deaf ears. If the community wants this change like this post, give it attention and maybe the devs might see people want this.

You're failing to understand exactly why the roulette system is in place in the first place, it's not to reward you with tomes and exp, that's just a carrot, the whole point of it is to help those needing certain content who are trying to queue for it but can't otherwise get players interested to help them (specifically, older content).

The reason why the 'adventurer in need' bonus is virtually always tank is because there is a DPS imbalance in the game - there is just more DPS classes than tanks and healers, made worse by the two new Stormblood Jobs being both DPS, so that only adds to the problem.

And it is not a simple matter of "add more tank classes then!" - Heavensward showed that players will still preference DPS classes if given a choice (which had a DPS, healer and tank all introduced, and there were more levelling MCH than AST and DRK), so no matter how you look at it there will always be a need for tanks. The roulette bonus is just one way to encourage it.

Yes it makes it hard to level DPS classes but there are other ways to level (FATEs for one, especially with those exp bonus mechanics SB area FATEs now have), if you're using roulettes exclusively to level you're going to have a hard time (I'm sorry for rehashing that tired meme though).

I think you misunderstood my post. I have edited it slightly to make it clearer.

Oops, my mistake. Sorry about that, I read your post as an issue with roulettes not Job restricted tome gear.

And then cue people turning right back around and complaining about how they're getting burnt out from having to grind so much if they play multiple jobs that don't share equipment? People complain enough about having to meet the normal cap as it is.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

I have a love and hate relationship with job restricted gear, like it's great for glamour, have a glamour for each job be it Whm Sch or Ast bad side though, you'll lose space faster than leveling cook. :/ they'll need to fix a lot of problems to fix this one

Let them complain. The system we have now doesn't benefit multiple jobs at all. So, being able to gear multiple classes or not. That's what it boils down to.

Signed. I want to be able to change jobs as I see fit. Don't build a whole game around multi-jobs if your ending progression system doesn't support it.

Except the endgame DOES support it. The very first set of tome gear is job restricted, but all further gear is shared by up to 3 different jobs at once.
ARR did this, Heavensward did this and now Stormblood is doing it. You are surprised ... why?

Its not going to kill you that the FIRST weekly cap set is job restricted. History has shown us that its only one set.

note to OP on point 1

SE are likely to set the tome limit back down to 450 tomes per week since the 900 limit was more of an exception rather than the rule
