I found this whilst perusing the BF3 forums today, tried it out for FF14 and it works! It is a new type of Anti-Aliasing(Smooths jagged edges) called Subpixel Morphological Antialiasing when applied to FF14 it removes a LOT of the shimmering you see on objects whilst moving and makes everything smooth without a noticeable performance drop at high!

I don't care about the legality of this so please don't clutter the thread on whether you think it is right to use it or not, all i know is it makes the game look tons better and i can't see a performance hit. Below are comparison shots, the download link and some instructions.

How to install:

1. Download files from link above
2. As FF14 is a DX9 game copy the files from the folder "d3d9" to your FF14 Installation folder(Mine is: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV)
3. Make sure all other AA is turned off(Game/CCC/Nvidia CP)
4. Run the game!

Tested this and I must say I'm amazed how good it looks. Haven't tried the "ultra" setting yet, but will definately try it later on.

This method is also completely legal, since it's nothing but a DirectX modulation. It doesn't hoax with anything in the game except the AA. (The font might become a tad grainy, but still very readable)

Yes it will be on by default every time you load the game.

your video card should have that stuff built into the nvidia setting/ati catalyst programs you dont need an external one.

catalyst control center has a tick box for morphological but there's no tooltip and half a dozen other settings in the same area :/

Ill give this a shot because I don't play windowed so logging to desktop off and on trying to do testing is a nightmare.

I figured it'd be worth posting. Something in my setup is incompatible. The launcher just crashes instantly when this is in the XIV folder. Remove it and launches normally. Maybe i'll just try the built in option in CCC
