For the same reason people level Alt's in ever other MMO in existence. Personally, I get bored playing the same class for longer then a few hours, so I often weill level multiple classes at the same time. In addition to crafting classes, and gathering classes...

You sound much more like a lone wolf. One class unless necessary. Which is fine, but it's also not the only way to play the game. It's part of what makes an MMO cool, and why I'll often only play MMO's.

Variety? I play Monk mostly, but I also enjoyed playing MCH from time to time, amd having a tank is great for helping friends with queue times. It's refreshing to play multiple classes

Thanks for all of your answers,

I was pondering about this since I am now taking the time to level all disciple of the land and hand job to level 50 before I begin the Heavensward campaign. So far:

    Botanist: 50 - Miner: 50 - Fisherman: 50
    Goldsmith: 50 - Alchemist: 50 - Weaver: 41

I have been doing that for about a month and a half now on top of my daily beast tribe quests. I just want to get the best equipment and lots of money at the end of the process. So I was just wondering if there was *ANY* reason I should level up other disciple of war/magic classes.

From your answers, different roles (tank & healer) and fun seems to be the only reasons.

Well I'm not into crafting, but from my experience any "best equipment" you can get will get replaced real fast once you go into Heavens Ward. Same goes later on in Storm Blood. I wouldn't worry about the "best equipment" until you get to max level

When it comes to other classes. It's your character. If you only want to play Bard, by all means go ahead.

For me it's different. I love playing a variety of classes. Healers and DPS, not into tanking. So I have tried out several classes. And a few stuck with me, while others turned out to be meh. I absolutely love Red Mage, Astrologian and White Mage. Dragoon and Monk on the other hand? Not so much. The nice thing about this game is that you can try out all the classes without having to resort to creating alts.

If you don't like the idea of other classes, then don't level them.

I'm having fun playing different roles and classes.
